Laptop Screen craked - Mysteriously

Salad
By Salad

Aslam o alikum,

had an old laptop, few year, left it on downloading and went out, i put this down and did not close the screen fully, upon return i opened the screen full and noticed it was craked...

No sign of physical stress from outside or inside of screen, but a link of crack going up and down, 75% of screen is black gray.

Since i left this at home and 100% sure i did not put stress on screen, how is it possible?

Could there be internal heating or something since screen laptop was old, anyone else experienced similar problem?

replace it with the same monitor of the same model, of course a certified service center will do it so it should be done properly. There is no room for mistakes here ...

so do you think, monitor could be replace...though laptop is sensitive & might not fill the place as original!!

or the screen without fees as it's for sure out of warranty, but they can replace the monitor for sure if you will pay for it. You have to wait at least for a month till they get the parts depending on the service center itself.

For the time being, connecting it to another LCD monitor won't be a bad idea :)

King ...They dont replace the Laptop...if the screen gets cracked...do they?

the only other option is to get a CRT or LCD monitor and connect the laptop through VGA cable....or even the HDMI cable

UK....If you have a cat....they love the heat the Laptop coud generate and lay on top of it (when you leave it on) during the cold climate...and....use the cold metal to sleep when it is hot climate.

They do it regularly to cars.....so I am commenting not by "experience" but by "observation".....maybe I could be wrong on that part...lol.

King Edshel.. Actually the Toshiba Centre is opposite Jarir in Al Mannai building. Will see what they say.

Jackmohan did have a Cat but she has been adopted by another family now. I agree with you as my 11 years old son man handles it by carring it from that side So I guess the stress on that corner of the screen has let to fracture in the screen.

but strange, I'ven't heard of screen getting cracked simply for no reason. Yeah overheating could be a problem , but that's what the inspection department is set for.

Do you have a cat in your house?

If not the only other reason could be that you open and close the laptop by the corners which could put stress on the screen.

GodFather.

Have the same problem with my Toshiba laptop. Just over 3 years old. The Screen cracked towards the left upper side.

Does anyone know if the screen can be repaired or replaced?

had some problems with their screens, not sure what model is yours to tell. But it can happen, if it's a clean crack going from side to side then it's normal ...
