How about instead of posting where new radars are positioned, you just slow the hell down and drive like a competent driver. I'm guessing that the people that read this are the same ones who drive like mad and then slam on your brakes because you know where the radars are posted.

I will only be happy when they tackle Al Waab road. There are 3 or 4 signals down that road and everyone knows there are no cameras yet. I still see drivers crossing on the red. One Saturday afternoon 4 people were killed in 2 accidents down that road.(I stand to be corrected on that).

and the Civil Defense Roundabout, an officer was out of his vehicle, standing on the sidewalk, watching the rush hour traffic...writing down all the drivers that had phones stuck to their ears...

The one which I am talking about is on the road going inside on the right of Dasman Centre when you are coming from TOYOTA signal. It is the second signal on that road. And I heard that it always gives trouble.

It was taking photos after it turned green... The camera should only take pictures once the signal has turned red.

Well thats good to know abs1857 ... hope thats it... cause I am going to be really mad if I get a QR500 fine for passing a green light....;-)

shreeya ..najma signal....If you mean the one near the Gulf/Doha Cinema and ...when you are going for an U-turn!!!

In fact it gives the least priority to the U-turn lane while allowing the other lanes to clear 2 times...this is true even during the peak traffic time....seems kind of silly.

One can easily spend about 30 minutes at the signal when there is a long queue of cars for U-Turn.

If it Pictured while the green lights were on

The Trafic violation database system also shows that it was a picture taken while the green lights

so no need to worry

Also if it was a yellow no need to worry

But if Red ...

U know what

also before in front of me and when the cars start moving it starts taking photos. I guess that it is starts taking photos when you start moving until the traffic lights change into red so it can capture anyone who will cross it. Guess that the principle is: Taking all photos of the guilty and none guilty, filter those later and fine that guilty ones :)

"Well be living in a hotter version of england soon."

Heaven forbid. How will we live with ourselves if the world loses the true jewel in its crown: a nation whose charater is truly defined by speeding and fatal accidents?

The other evening about 12am when returning from running my dogs near Mesaieed, I approached Airport signal intersection and notice there was a guy sitting on top of the camera with a laptop obviously downloading the pictures of the camera....

As the signal had changed to red by the time I got there, myself along with a number of cars were stopped there.

As the signal turned green, and we started to move.... the camera started to flash.... there must have been about 15 or 20 flashes as all the cars that were passing that camera on the green light were being pictured...

I can only hope that those pics got deleted, cause I don't fancy being presented with a fine for a crime I never commited. I assumed that while the guy was downloading the pics, the camera was not on the correct setting so it was just flashing at will at who ever passed over it....

Please say its so... eitherwise there are going to be a number of aggravated drivers at the traffic department denying the charges...

Anybody has the experience of the curse Najma signal? 2 weeks back when we were on our way to home after watching a late night movie (nearly 2am, Darude's special time), we stopped at this signal for whooping 12 mins, waiting to change it to green. In the meantime the signal opposite us changed as much as 4 times. There was a long queue behind us at that time of the night and we all stranded stupidly. It never changed at least on that night. At last somebody dared to jump it followed by others. This happens regularly at this particular signal. Has anyone experienced it?
