Do you believe in life after death? If so, what is your concept of afterlife?

there is no life after death in our flesh or the body... the life is either with God (wherever he is.. in heaven or elsewhere) or in hell... we have to choose for which God has given us wisdom knowledge and the true Word of God to decide.......by obeying His commandment...

i never said hindu is a religion....its a "sanskara" .... and before saying thathwamasi, you have to say " aham brahmasmi thathwamasi"....it means " i am the brahmam, and its you".....it shows that all the lifes have same importance in the world....if you are a believer to god...you can describe it as......all the lifes in the earth is considered as " jeevathma" ....which is another form of " paramathma( god).......thanks friends

Some believe that when you die 41 virgins await you...

If you are a guy then you are pretty much stuck with terrible sex with 41 chicks.

And if you are a lady expecting 41 male virgins - well its going to pretty much be a disaster with 41 inexperienced guys :P

by the way... i 4got to ask u...

hindu is not at a religion.

there is no founder there is no religious books.

there is nothing.....

but..

what we have is lots of story books with a great story and life experience.

the greatest books are vedas and upanishath.

nothing else...

the people who wrote these books.

they hide lots of secrets inside.

the real meaning of whats written on those books are passed from generations to generations.

the reason y they did this is to hide the secrets from the people who may miss use it ...

so, when ever a normal reader go through these books, he will never understand the real meaning, he just understand the outer meaning.

that how people think that hindu is a religion and there are lots of gods for hindus...

all these are nonsense.........

ha ha ha....

its really funny.....

33 crore gods?

who told u this?

ok. listen. sree narayana guru once told that there are 33 crore gods.

it does not mean that there are 33 crore of god.

33 crore was the population at that time.

the truth is....

each and every one is god or u can say there is god in each and every one...

he want the people to realize this truth.

thats the reason u see mirror in all the hindu temple in this world and it will be written thathva massi.

the hinduism tells u that the god is within u. and it also teach us how to realize the god within you.

well..

my friend.

this is not the right place to discus all those things....

bcoz here i dont want to talk such things which 1 or 2 may believe and rest make fun of it.....

Priya, First of all, Hinduism was not a religion at its origin. It was a set of beliefs by people who followed the teachings of the Vedas and Upanishads. These scriptures were originally atheistic but later mythological characters got added on as extended beliefs in people over generations.

These tales are actually not part of the Vedantas, just common beliefs in people as in Hinduism, a lot is left to interpretation and individual understanding.

ohhh i never thought this topic will become a serious issue.

i didnt want to talk abt it, thats y i didnt respond to this in detail.

the reason is, if i say something, then other will relate it to religion.

when its related to religion, then its like.....

every one will have a watch with them, no watch will have the same time. and every one will say that the time in my watch is accurate....

those who want to know more can go through this link

http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org/articles/id/spiritualresearch/spiritualscience/afterdeath

i dont know its true or not. (the link)

from my experience, i believe that there is rebirth.

the reason y i believe is, one of my friend's relative had the memory of her past life. when they investigate, all her memory was true and she called her parents of her last birth for her wedding on new birth.

i dont know why the rebirth happens or why do we take a rebirth. or eavh and every one will have a after life.

some times, some incident in my life makes me feel that this already took place in my life long b4. and for me, such incident dont not feel new to me. it makes me feel i know what will happen next. since i already have a memory of what happen last time...

it sounds strange, i never talked abt this feeling to any one. but once my guru asked me. do u have such feeling etc etc... after that only i started to realize and care such feelings....

ok, I thought I answered the question...but

it is a little hard to understand.

The point Im trying to make is that everything

has to have a start, right? if the start of a start

has a beginning, then there is practically no start, right?

this means that the whole of creation has to have some beginning which is not created. God was the beginning and He is much more powerful and great than we can ever imagine. We simply do not have the ability to imagine any of his attributes. One of His attributed is that He has no beginning (was not born or created) nor does He have an end (doesn't die). Can you imagine living for ever? no one can because our mind's ideas always have some kind of limit. The reason for that is that our minds are limited to thinking of things that are result of His Creation (which is nothing like Him). Even if you think of something that does not exist, youll find that the origin of your thought is based on His creation....try it!

good question!

everything we see and know is created

and that is why we call it "creation". If there is a creation, then there has to be a creator. this is where it started, although its hard to imagine: the start of eeevery thing. everything that exists is result of the creator's choice.... now the question is: who or what is this creator, isnt it?

Id say....lets start from the beginning

At the beginning there was nothing, nothing

but God for he was not created, so has has no start.

God all mighty then created everything...literally

everything you see and can imagine. even the things we

make are made of things God created. the question I think one should ask then, is what is the purpose why God (Allah)

created us. what mission did he give all of us collectively since we are all created equal? What can we do in return

for this huuuge favor which is a gift, and not deserved.

He has sent messengers to tell us all this. how we should best live. what real success is. And the last of his messengers was Mohamed peace be upon him

May Allah lead us the right path

So God, who made us, plotted our future life path and who is the only one that can predict any next move for us is just hanging on, testing us before he goes through his court system for us, the 7,000,000,000 tiny creatures on earth?

Doesn't he know from the moment you are born if you were to become a criminal or a good person? I mean he Made you, true he gave you brains, but he made you.. anything you do, he knows already...

Love how people humanize everything around them ;)

they even assume heaven and hell to be tailored for human standards... Look around you, we are NOTHING!

There must be something after life, some sort of energy that depending on its level, could reside in anything else.. whether living or non living..

Hemlata: You are saying, "Why should he go to hell to get punishment which I am not aware and gives me no consolation?"

My answer: If you are a keen observer, you may find that God has distributed the comforts and good things in life unequally. Now, let me give an example: One may be born as an EVIL prince while the other may be born as a GOOD-HEARTED pauper in this world. Now, you may be astonished to find out that the good hearted pauper is a victim of heinous misfortunes throughout his life while the evil corrupted Prince enjoys his fortunes all through his life . One who witness this situation may say that the good guy would end up in heaven where eternal pleasures are bestowed to him while the bad guy would end up in hell where he have to suffer endless torment. What about in such case? You will find consolation in thinking that God will do the right thing at the right time.

"How many people follow Islam or say Hinduism in true sense – barring some ladies [ 50% of them may be under compulsion], old people, sick people and people having troubles."

Seriously, I don't support communal riots and related disturbances that dwell in our country.

"Now here people say, it is hand work of few misguided people but who is misguiding them? Is there no God to guide them or God is just watching instead of preventing them? Is there any punishment for them in holy religious book? If yes, then are these people not aware? If aware then why are they doing it? Even then if they are doing it, it means are not true follower of the religion & holy book. If they don’t follow then what is use of it?"

My answer: All religious books revolve around a significant concept i.e. love rules the world. If people 'misinterpret' the concepts taught in the religious books, then why to blame God? Its like saying that you misspelled a word because of your pen. Some people who are aware of such teachings find themselves secluded from violence. Have you ever came across this quote: "The world suffers not because of the violence of bad people, but because of the silence of good people." Its true!

And finally, one more thing... just because you hate religious teachings doesnt mean that I should also follow your path.

"Everyday I promise myself - I will speak only truth.

By anonymous• 28 Dec 2011 12:52

First of all, I firmly say, I don’t believe in past life. As told by tinkerbell, hell and heaven exist only on earth. One needs to suffer for wrong deeds on earth itself. Where the hell is and who knows, what happens there? If a man has troubled me, he should be punished here itself by law or God whatsoever so that he too suffers. Why should he go to hell to get punishment which I am not aware and gives me no consolation?

Religion is by the people, of the people and for the people. If it is not followed by people then the religion looses its value and become mere a moral story book. How many people follow Islam or say Hinduism in true sense – barring some ladies [ 50% of them may be under compulsion], old people, sick people and people having troubles. In a German bakery case in India, so many young engineers died due to bomb planted by territories. One family lost both their children who were IITian, Can you imagine suffering of their parents – every day they are dying. It is done by few people but whole community gets bad name and people starts questioning their faith in religion or in religion itself.

Now here people say, it is hand work of few misguided people but who is misguiding them? Is there no God to guide them or God is just watching instead of preventing them? Is there any punishment for them in holy religious book? If yes, then are these people not aware? If aware then why are they doing it? Even then if they are doing it, it means are not true follower of the religion & holy book. If they don’t follow then what is use of it? Is it written for few ladies like you?

Merely saying that they will go to hell does not relieve pain. They should get punishment by the same God right in front of our eyes and their family / parents should also suffer like other parents.

You are quoting many nice section of Islam and feel nice to read.

By the way, Dasman closing sale is on and you can buy many unnecessary things just because they are offering heavy discount.

We don't have OUR own concept; its basically we follow what our religion says.

Nobody have any documentary evidence to justify.

Lets live in illusion till we EXPERIENCE ourself, till then have a good caring, happy and responsible life.

This life is a TEST and a journey; we all are in an Examination Hall, attending and responding to different situations of Life responsibly, patiently and gracefully. Certain rules to be followed, knowingly given the grading system (Heaven/Hell). The results will be declared ONLY After this Life; however some indications could be seen in this life. Rest assured.

If everything is been disclosed then everybody will PASS this TEST without any Hard Work.

Continue to explore LIFE, which is A mystery too for some people.

the question of whether there is life after death does not fall under the jurisdiction of science, as science is concerned only with classification and analysis of sense data. Moreover, man has been busy with scientific inquiries and research, in the modern sense of the term, only for the last few centuries, while he has been familiar with the concept of life after death since time immemorial.

All the Prophets of God called their people to worship God and to believe in life after death. They laid so much emphasis on the belief in life after death that even a slight doubt in it meant denying God and made all other beliefs meaningless.

tinkerbell10: This life is a big test. Our next life would be the results for this test. Think logically! :)

A central doctrine of the Quran relies on the fact that the world will be destroyed in the end and God will raise all people from the dead to be judged.

This last day is usually known as "The Day of Judgement".

The resurrection that will take place on the last day is physical, and is suggested that God will recreate the decayed body.

On this last day, the human beings will be judged by the God in accordance to their deeds. One's eternal destination depends on balance of good to bad deeds in life. They are either granted admission to Paradise, where they will enjoy spiritual and physical pleasures forever, or condemned to Hell to suffer spiritual and physical torment for eternity.

First of all, as I have mentioned before, I don't believe in past life. I believe in after life and the concept of after life is based on the fact that we would be judged on our deeds. Heaven/Hell is the consequence of our good/bad deeds. What I want to say is that, our concept of afterlife is constructed on the principal of heaven and hell. We don't live another life in this WORLD.

Well, Quran is not a mythology book. It is the words of Allah which was revealed through Prophet Muhammed.

You are saying "I hope, you won’t become my mother in law afterlife"

Firstly, let me repeat. The foundation principal of our afterlife is based on heaven and hell. We don't have another life in this World.

Secondly, I don't want to be your mother in law. If I am your mother in law, you are insulting my status.

Thirdly, you talk like a typical surface thinker- you do not want to delve deeper into a matter (You are NOT far sighted!). Someone says that they need an evidence, and you follow it blindly. You have no opinion on your own.

The same topic, the same questions, the same arguments were discussed and explained since 1400 years ago. And please remember there is no compulsion in religion.

'The unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for Judgment). Say: "Yes, by My Lord, you shall surely be raised up: then shall you be told (the truth) of all that you did. And that is easy for God." ' Quran Chapter 64:7

"They say: "What! when we are reduced to bones and dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new creation? Say: Become stones or iron. Or some other creature of those which are too hard (to receive life) in your minds! But they will say: Who will return us? Say: Who created you at first. Still they will shake their heads at you and say: When will it be? Say: Maybe it has drawn nigh. Quran Chapter 17:49-51

"Man says: "What! When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?" Does not man remember that We created him before, when he was nothing? Quran Chapter 19:66-67

They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again? Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!" Say: "To whom belong the earth and all beings therein? (say) if ye know?" Quran Chapter 23:82-83

It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out. Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated. Quran Chapter 56:57-60

People are so gullible!! Why can’t they just go by evidence?

Afterlife is just another figment of imagination to answer to some basic questions and satisfy the curious human mind. This concept also helps in providing a deterrent effect to people as not to engage in anti-social activities even if they thought they could get away from punishment before death. Each religion has tried to interpret life-after-death in its own ways. Religions originating from Judaism like Christianity and Islam believe in existence after life but Hindus and Buddhists believe in the continued cycle of re-birth or re-incarnation. Jews say we live but once and the spirits wait with the archangel Raphael before judgment by God. This concept is taken in Islam as well with a little variation.

Like the archangels - Michael, Gabriel and Raphael etc. which have no real existence, afterlife and re-birth is also a belief of most people based on their faith. Stories of children remembering their previous lives have different plausible explanations.

Since the Jews knew the names and residing places of all angels and archangels, does it mean they had descended from the heavens one by one on earth to introduce themselves and explain to us their responsibilities in the heavens…??

You said, "No one knows about his past life."

Well, we don't believe in past life. (Ofcourse! We do believe in afterlife!).

Since there is no evidence supporting your statement, I would like to say that the confusion resides in your mind.

Tinkerbell/drsam: Yeah, right! Man has got pleanty of things to worry about. But isn't it amazing how such worries vanish into a dark invisible cave when you think of death?

Many of us think about this inevitable fate (death) very rarely. When you become mindful of death, you think and act differently. A person conscious of death always reflects on the eternal powers of his Lord. In this way he would think twice before defrauding and deceiving another human being. By remembering the fact that we all will perish and be buried in dirt, taking none of our processions with us, it becomes undesirable to hurt someone intentionally.

Eternal damnation is ok with me since it will prevent you from doing bad things in life. It's still a choice, right?

God presented both what's good and bad and He did not even stop there. He told men to do the good. But still man was given the chance to make a choice. So who got the problem? You choose your destination by your free will or by your personal conviction.

is coming back to this world again, then it's wrong. The concept if base on the Holy Book is the eternal life as promised to certain people. All dead will be resurrected and all those who will be still alive on the second coming will be judge accordingly.

Those who did good (in His eyes) will live in Heaven while those who did bad (in His eyes) will suffer in Hell eternally.

It depends on one's conviction what he will do with his life here NOW, in the first place, you will never know (unless you believe in the Scriptures)what awaits you after death.

By anonymous• 26 Dec 2011 10:06

The fall back position is to reject something you have absolutely no idea what it's? Now that's some funny logic Prince.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Unless you can explore every inch of the Universe, and beyond, you can't really prove there is No Life After Death. Just as you can't prove there is one

But like I said in my previous post, to each their own. I'll continue to believe in the Life after Death. You can choose not to if you insist.

By anonymous• 26 Dec 2011 09:39

Prince Planet: I'd like to revert the same question back to you.

So when to accept and when to reject?

How can you disapprove or deny something you have absolutely no proof to invalidate or disapprove?

Talk to me when you have got the proof that it doesn't (:

Prince Planet: you live your life disbelieving in things without any proof?

Well Prince.”This is my opinion and my belief. So if you don't like it then it's your problem"

Anyway....like Fatimah said...nobody knows since the only people who do know are dead.

And since there is no ways I can scientifically proof it exist, neither have you can disproof the existence of Life after death scientifically. The conclusion is that it is inconclusive as there is no evidence to support any theory on the subject.

Prince Planet: There is absolutely no scientific evidence of "Life After Death". No one could tell you as they're alive.

On the other hand, No one knows that there is not "life after death". There is absolutely no scientific evidence to disprove "Life After Death" either. Kind of a stalemate. I will continue to believe in "life after death", it is a win win situation for me.

Man has been busy with scientific inquiries and research, in the modern sense of the term, only for the last few centuries, while he has been familiar with the concept of life after death since time immemorial.

The very fact that all the Prophets of God have dealt with this metaphysical question of life after death so confidently and so uniformly - the gap between their ages in some cases, being thousands of years - goes to prove that the source of their knowledge of life after death as proclaimed by them all, was the same Source.

As a Muslim I certainly believe that the present life is a trial in preparation for the next realm of existence. (Life after Death)

The question of whether there is life after death does not fall under the jurisdiction of science, as science is concerned only with classification and analysis of sense data.

Here the quran presents logical and rational arguments in support of it

And he (i.e. man) presents for Us an example (i.e. attempting to establish the finality of death) and forgets his [own] creation. He says, “Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?” Say, “He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing.” [It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite. Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator. (Quran, 36:78-81)

Cheers,

When it comes to life after death it will only boil down to faith and/or assumptions as no one has come back from their graves and told us what exactly happens once we die. The religious will believe in what they believe and the non religious will believe in what they believe. And considering the fact that we never get to tell those who oppose our views "I told you so" is it worth the arguments then?

Yes PA, I firmly believe in life after death. If seeing is believing then one will have to die to believe, but then it will be toooo late. We can not say, OK now I believe, send me back and I will live the way I must. No 2nd chance there!!!

Vanessa02: TYPICAL RACIST!!!!! "Many Filipinos complain of being racially profiled (some Filipinas in the Middle East are easy to get or gullible) but some of them look down on other people such as Indians as fellows with stinky body odor who live off through ’5-6′ usury business. Or on Chinese neighbors who own bigger stores in the market as penny-pinchers. But they can’t look at themselves and fix their flaws. lol V.

I think They smell because of the food they eat, not because they don't shower often. I have Indian friends who come from the west that really don't smell bad and they don't move their heads when they say yes/no.

I don't understand if they don't realize that certain food makes them really smell bad. I have been in situations that I almost threw up.

Please don't call me racist.

zeusbila: Have you ever heard of "continuum"? Its a type of false awakening system where you fall asleep in real life, but in the dream following, the brain simulates the subject as though they were still awake. In this belief system, you DID NOT live in the past, rather your current Energy Physical Lifeform is "remembering" the imprint of energies placed on your physical being, as passed down through your ancestral DNA.

Doha Knight: In my vie point, life after death exists. You would be judged based on your level of good and bad deeds and punishment will be given accordingly. So, if you consider this view point, Hitler will be Punishable by the amount of bad deeds which he has committed. There is no need for revenge.

I do believe the life after death. But what strikes me is that the people who are strongly believing this concept and even fighting to impose their ideology to non-believers, they themselves are not following their rules in this world to get rewarded in next life.

If you are truly believe the life after death, then do the good things in this life and respect others before even try to impose your ideas to others...
