Living conditions
I am an Australian woman looking to re-locate to Doha for work and am curious to know details about living and working there. I have heard that single men and women are not allowed to live together? Is this true? Does that mean that I could not live with my boyfriend? What other information should I know about living and working in Doha?
You'll be fine out here, the only thing I'd be concerned about is that I personally may get bored out here, but not for a long while though (especially with a 1 day weekend). Although there are plenty of activities if you have enough time in the week, evenings....... oh I don't know what to say, haha you'll enjoy it.

Thanx for the reply, it's really appreciated. I guess just going to a different country you fear the worst - but from what your saying it's a good place to be and life is good. That puts my mind at ease somewhat.
Thanx - if anyone else has thoughts, i'd love to hear them.
You could live with your boyfriend. I had all these kind of fears (not about - not being able to live with a guy!!!), but the country is really relax, overly relaxed, in fact you'll see that all construction work in this country never gets passed 95% complete! That is what they aim for, that is what they achieve!
I've been working here just over 4 weeks and I feel totally settled, its very easy to get along over here and you never feel out of place.
There are over twice as many men to women so possibly that creates a few more problems for women, but I wouldn't say anything to serious, you'd probably want a female to give her opinion on that. Other than that crime is extremly low, well I reckon.
Roads are a bit crazy, but you get used to them. Most small roads don't have names and so you navigate by landmarks!
Taxi's are cheap, food is reaonable, petrol super cheap, erm you can only drink generally in hotels and private member clubs.
Don't know really what else I have to offer.
