Hi friends,

I am looking to buy a new car in Qatar, which I can use for atleast a few years and has reasonable maintainence costs. But my budget is small and between 30000 - 50000 QAR. The car is intended for normal city use and for family. Can you suggest any such model that fits my needs?

I am also looking to buy this car at a loan? Is it possible to get 100% loan at a reasonable interest rate? Your suggestions please.

Thanks a lot

Gautam

you can get the nw NISSAN SUNNY around 48-49000qr automatic, after my research that the cheapest and one with better resale value. nissan TIDA will be around 52k qr on the road and is also quite good, corolla u have 2 go for a 1.8 and it will be atleast 62k on the road . 4x4 cheapst is KIA SPORATAGE AND HYUNDAI TUCSON.

check out the new honda crv its realy cool but you hav 2 push the bidjet uppp. do a visit to all the car showrroms and you will find yourself automatically pushing up your budjet, happy buyinng.

Hi friends,

Thanks a lot for all your valuable suggestions. Based on your suggestions, I have decided that I will extend my budget and keep safety too in mind while buying a car.

It looks like Toyota Corolla is a good overall fit in terms of cost, safety, maintainence, resale value as well. I am contemplating on Toyota Corolla. The choices I have are 1.3 Xli or 1.8 XLi, Manual or Automatic.

I thought about 1.3 Xli automatic but the salesman said that automatic transmission draws more engine power and hence may not be a good fit. Also, when using air conditioner in car, the engine seems to be really at load. So, 1.8 Xli is required.

So, it looks like 1.8 Xli automatic could be apt for me.

Any thoughts / suggestions on this?

Thanks a lot

Gautam, you have a small baby, and i suggest and i am sure most will agree that Doha Streets are NOT safe at all with quite a few dangerous drivers. Your family and safety is your priority, i suggest within your Budget, try Honda Civic, or a Honda City, if you can squeeze your budget a bit more i would suggest take 4x4s as they have better safety features, pressing your budget a bit more you can pick up a Honda CRV 06 - 80 plus, Kia Sportage 06 - 70 plus, Toyota Fortuner / Mitsubishi Nativa - 80 plus.

Hope it helps..

Cheers !

Hi to All,

Thanks a lot for your quick responses. I am having a baby who is just 7 months old.

How about Alto? Do you think that it will be a good fit?

Thanks a lot

You can also check Kia Carens. I'm sure the price will be comparable or much less than the Matrix but looks a little bigger.
