Just got home from the Ramada. I don't know what was sadder.....the game or the lack of women there.

The match had all the elements of the infamous Italy-France finals 2 years ago. One guy got red-carded for unsporting behavior and his team lost on penalties. But the similarities end here. Man-U is not the perennial loser in football that is Italy. Italy doesn't know how to win, it only knows how not to lose.

The match was actually less equally balanced, the first 25 minutes dominated by Man-U and the rest by Chelsea. Drogba hit the side post and Lampard hit the top post! Essien needs to know that he is not a finisher and pass the ball to anyone nearby. Refereeing was pathetic with many decisions going against Chelsea including a Corner that was never given. Man-U really got lucky to reach the penalties.

Petr Cech made a brilliant save and put Chelsea ahead on penalties, only to be undone by Terry, who hit the ball wide later. Van Der Sar's save actually arrived a little later when Chelsea should have sealed the match.

I still can't believe Chelsea blew its chances. That is football!

The crucial spot-kick - Chelsea's seventh - was saved by Reds keeper Edwin van der Sar to seal an epic victory.

Chelsea looked set to win, after christiano ronaldo missed the third kick. the score was 4-4 with just chelsea's final kick to go! john terry sent van der sar the wrong way, but slipped as he was taking the kick and the ball went wide! phew! the reds went on to win it 6-5 after anelka missed chelsea's 7th kick.

the match was equally balanced, the first half dominated by manU and chelsea coming back in the second half. couple of close misses for both teams.
