The real Mermaid in the Aquarium and Science museum in Liege- Belgium. This to prove that the myth of the Mermaids is not only fairy tales, it does exist but not that beautiful :)
I know, I know, I said I would not comment again - but if I have another game of Cluedo I will be the one accused in the kitchen with a candlestick lol http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/mythicalcreatures/ss/Pictures-Mermaid-Found-After-Tsunami.htm
I will make a fool of myself (again) by posting this - but it will be the last thing honestly - Sideshow carnivals in Europe and America in the 1800s also featured mermaids, many of them from Japan and the West Indies. The most famous of these mermaids was P.T. Barnum's Feejee Mermaid, which is believed to have been created around 1810 by a Japanese fisherman. The art of creating faux mermaids was perfected by fishermen and often involved stitching the heads and upper bodies of monkeys onto the bodies of fish.
Mermaids do NOT HAVE hands, or a human rib cage or a pelvic bone followed by more bones. The 'head' looks wobbly to me. By the way - the head is male - look at the width of the cranium and the pelvic bones are female :-/ Give it up - you have been rumbled :-)
Nomerci, If you would have seen the things that I saw there< you would say; OMG why we don't know about all these things? and believe me, the mermaid is just 1% of what they have.
People, you all just drop your comments without any arguments. I said, it is mermaid and not a baby, it is one piece and oke, just look this one as well and don't argue without any evidence. [[wysiwyg_imageupload:396:]]
All of them will have a place in heaven I think. Not deeply religious at all - but I hope in some way they are looked after somewhere else - if that makes sense :-)
That is not a Mermaid at all - seen it and spoke to the curator about it. Sorry to the OP.This is a 'doctored' baby that died of a genetic disorder called Harlequins Syndrome. These children are born early, have scales as skin, have fused legs and an abundance of hair (sometimes)It is a very sad thing to see.If one chose to - google the disorder - although it makes sad viewing.
Nomerci: it is not very old, they do have several examples. But one of them has been allowed to be touched and observed closely for to believe. Brit: I did not wash my hand :)
This is real...saw it with my own eyes and touched it with my hands. She is kind ugly creature, round 80 cm long, has hands, human face. Lot of them in the museum. They say they do live in few places in the oceans.

If this was really a mermaid, don't you think all hell would break loose and the scientists and newspapers would go ballistic?Get real.

I hope you washed your hands afterwards..
Very odd! Such a rare thing to be allowed to be touched by thousands of people...:/
They have few examples there. the top is open and you can touch it to feel the reality of this creature
not covered from the top....IMHO :P
how could you touch it if it is in a glass case? Did they take it out for you?
Could it be a merman?
I hear that the CIA is training them to track submarines and plant mines :O(
brit, i presume U haven't watched Pirates of the Carribean, else U wouldn't say this. ;)

It's an inca mermaid.
It all smells a bit fishy to me :O(
no doutb, they are still living in dark ages.
Mermaids are much more beautiful than that! That is a mummified mermaid.
Wow... the attraction is in crown and tail only
