Can anyone suggest me a most accurate movie that tells of the American War for Independence? I am now watching The Patriot. Apparently it scored 4/10 on accuracy of events. Thanks.
I think some of you may be mixing up the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. They happened about 70 years apart. One was over independence from Britain, the other over slavery.
the last hollywood movie i watched was man of steel.
it's depressing how humanity was shown to be totally helpless and cannot protect themselves from alien invaders.
i decided the japanese giant robot shows i grew up watching are much better. the technology sometimes come from aliens too on some shows but at least it's always the humans who operate the machines and do the fighting themselves.
Thank you all for your comments. The Patriot(Mel Gibson)I watched last night is 3 hours long. Wacthed only 2 hours. Did not quite explain the reason behind the revolution other than taxes. I was surprised to learn that the French sent 10,000 troops to help the militia. Mel is at his best as always. Sure LLR, just drop them in the box. I will download them. Thank you very much.
Never trust history. It's just a fanciful story. Because half the people don't know the truth( idiots). The other half don't tell the truth (liars) and almost all of them do not accept the truth (escapists)
In some discussion a while ago I got to understand that though Bollywood doesnt represent Indian society Hollywood sure represents their society...so how can we say, as non-hollywoodians that what they show is not true...:)

There will never be (in our lifetime) a true representation of the Civil War - or any war.
People from all sides have different views on the stance.
Thanks Thelonius....good link.

if you want the truth better opt for documentary movie rather then Hollywood movies
I liked the movie Lincoln (Not the vampire slayer), I think it is kinda true
What is nice in Bollywood is at the end the man will discover that the girl he loved all the movie is his Mother or Sister :O(
and there should be a Dance, even after the tears

"gone with the wind" and atlanta's union attack and subsequent fire
tinker is right, movies are for pleasure only :)
No one goes to a Hollywood movie and expects the "truth"
why only US is under attack from aliens/other planets...and lastly saved by a marine :)
If it comes from Hollywood, then might as well forget about it. According to Hollywood, America won Korean and Vietnam War.
