Moving to Qatar, Job Offered at Qatar Airways.

Dear All,

I have been offered a Pricing Analyst position at Qatar Airways. Details of the emoluments are below:

Grade Level QR 06

Basic Salary QAR 7,800

Housing Provision QAR 4,000

Transport Allowance QAR 600

Total Package: QAR 12,400

Housing allowance will only be provided incase the company is unable to arrange for accommodation, which they will provide hence housing is out of the way.

My question / concern is that then the remaining 8,400 QR is sufficient for a married couple, Id have to get a car and all. And how much will I be able to save from my salary.

Also I have 5 years of working experience, I was working as a relationship manager at Corporate banking division (wholesale banking) and someone told me with five years of experience you should expect atleast grade 7, and I am offered only grade 6. Should I talk to them about this? Or about Increasing the basic pay?

Regards,

Bubbles

They don't "provide" housing! They give him QAR 4,000 and tell him 'go, and find something where you can live.' That doesn't mean that he will be able to find something suitable for himself and his wife (if she gets an RP at all) for that amount of money!

Go for it man 8400 QR is ok in Qatar.unless u have a good offer than this

Dont be greedy...getting a job in Qatar is not easy unless u have wastaa. plus if they provide u accommodation half of your problem is solved because accommodation in Qatar is the most expensive. You don't have much option because if u reject some 1 else will accept it.I don't think so as price analyst you will get anything more than this in Qatar.

Hi guys. Just wanted to know if the total salary has to be above 10k QR or the basic pay?

Also how much room for negotiation is there in such offers?

You should negotiate a better deal which will allow you to apply for a visa for your wife . Good luck

Most importantly: you need at least QAR 10,000 to be able to apply for a residence visa for your wife.

Yes, it is low that is if u know u can get a much better offer than this........first try for Grade 7 as perks are ofcourse better, for any reason if u r not able to get it, atleast ask for a Basic of QAR 10000....otherwise it might not be worth it here in Qatar as everything is expensive.

Package is way low for a married coupler. House rent is approx. 7000 QAR, Rent a car with petrol is minimum 2000 QAR and food expenses atleast 2000 QAR. So do the maths and negotiate your salary unless you want to have a hands to mouth existence.

If you are unhappy with what you have been offered you have all the freedom to reject the offer. There are many around who will be happy to take the job. If you intend to bring your wife here, you may be able to do so on a visit visa as your salary does not qualify you for a permanent resident visa for your wife. A visit visa is for just six months duration. Taking a house or an apartment even for a few months is going to cost you. As for the five years of experience you have this is not much compared to the experience the people have here in the job market who are looking for employment opportunities.
