hello liana just wondering how the diet centre was working out? how much have you lost in total? Are you getting bored of the food yet?

ha ha, I'll probably shoot myself in the foot, they'll enjoy all the new business and put the prices up or something! and Sahra will be booked out all the time.

Liana, you should be given a token for marketing. I think you are going to find half of QL joining just because of you.

Well good luck!

On the first meeting with the dietician she talks about why you think you've gained weight, what your weaknesses are (mine is afternoon chocolate) and what foods you dont like, what you want to change about your body and then weighs and measures you with a tapemeasure around your waist, hips and chest.

Then she runs through a menu and gives you choices for every meal, i.e. Chicken parmiagiana or lamb shwarma.

then your food gets delivered every day, its really good food, and you get a check up every 10 days to get weighed and measured, and discuss how the week was and whether you did any exercise or went off the diet. she says that walking is fine excercise you dont have to run or do weights or anything.

its QR 2300 per month, which can sound expensive however i highly recommend it. The pure convenience of having all of your food there, fresh and ready to eat is worth the money to me!! never have to plan anything or drive anywhere to pick up lunch... even all of the snacks like fruit and cake in the afternoon are included. and low fat milk to put in my coffee!!

My dietician is Sahra she's great. I dont think they put any agents in the food. if there was some kind of agent that made you lose weight easily i'm sure they would just sell it by itself instead of bothering with the meals.

And, my trip was to Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Turkey. it was AWESOME!! Jordan was the clear highlight, a beautiful country. oh i miss the hammams.

anyway good luck if you join the diet centre!!

hey esl,

i dont think they wud add fat reduicng agents to the food.

normally if u have recently bulked up then its pretty easy to shed off that weight....its the weight u want to get rid off after that plateau thats difficult.

here proper n continous diet control plus dedicated workout helps.

and its lifetime lifestyle change one must adopt.

I happened to see them yesterday while the link was still up.

what photos?

There are no "fat-reducing" agents in the food right? I don't even know if I should humour this rumour, but some were saying that they put these agents in the food which cause a dramatic weight loss, but then afterwards when you discontinue the diet the weight piles back on.

Dvargas, you may well be a creature of the crypt, however those are your words, not mine. Perhaps I should have started my comment with "You appear to me to be....", as I was not "calling you names", simply stating my impression based on your contributions to this site.

I see you later went back and edited your own post to include a bit of "name-calling" of your own, though.... lovely. Guess you also went back through my other posts to work out that I was a chick - dedication to the cause might be admirable, but yet somehow not in this case. Yep, so far backing up my first impression of you. Which, I might add, was not based on this thread alone - just happened to be the one in which I mentioned it.

I am pleased to see Liana has a higher tolerance to crap than I do (it wouldn't be hard) and was also amused by her reply. I have far too little patience for my own good, some days.

You also, have a *lovely* day.

Liana - apologies for butting into your thread. Still not *quite* on topic, but I did want to say that I enjoyed your photos. When were they taken, did you say? Looks like a fun time (were they all from the one trip?).

Cheers :)

vw thanks for your question...i wanted to ask lianna something and had forgotten bout it.

lianna they give u a diet n u lose weight with it.

they recommend exercise.

they probably check ur bmi.

do they check your fat content with those funny looking calipers.bcos u cud have normal bmi but more fat n less muscle.

do u strength train.....u will get a toned body with that.do they advise u on exercise.

what is the preliminary checkup they do to advise u bout the diet.

Hi Liana,

I've been wondering about Diet Center too. I can't find any info on them online, so is this assumption correct:

1. They have dieticians consult with you and plan a diet.

2. They prepare food for you and deliver it?

Sounds like a great plan to me, what's the cost?

Do they cater to people who want to lose weight only, or can they also do special meals for some of us who can only eat certain foods?

Thanks!

I guess we are never content with our own bodies.

well I guess the grass is always greener. Ideally i'd love to be really really fit and have defined muscles. Its not as attractive for most men but it would be so awesome to have a fit and strong body.

sorry Dvargas, like everything in Doha my picturesque highway is currently closed due to construction. besides, you seem kind of volatile and I never know when you're going to snap.

A construction diversion is available at:

*CENSORED*

but its a bumpy road. and i'm taking this link off in like 10 minutes so you'd better be quick!

You are stunning. Please do not loose any more weight or your beauty will go with each kilo.

Fuller women are so much more gorgeous than skinny ones.

I'm skinny and I look like a child.

( and no! I swear I'm not a lesbian!!!!)

Dvargas, you are definitely one of the more creepy characters to surface on QL in quite a while. :/

Thanks for your comments David, yes thats me in the avatar. I dont think I am too skinny though, I'm now 69 kilos and 173 cm tall so in the healthy weight range, but would prefer to be about 66 kilos. Don't want to be a coathanger or "boney" though. And I enjoy food too much to be skinny even if i wanted to ;-)

will upload another pic or two in my profile if I can so you can see what i'm like now, and what I was like when i was 73 kilos.

Its interesting, i find that Arab men enjoy women with a few more curves than the typical Aussie guy does.

Why be coy? If you are beautiful then be proud of it, if you beleive yourself to not be so, then accept a compliment as an ego boost.

yep its been a month, maybe 5 weeks. and i havent been very disciplined in the last two weeks.

aw shucks Tyler ... what can I say to that? it is very hard to be coy in writing ha ha ha.

too skinny and boney for your eyes, hey Dvargas? i just read another of your posts where it sounded like you were attracted to fat, hairy women. In that case I am happy not to appeal to your taste.

By Miss Interpreted• 13 Dec 2006 08:26

well hello!! thanks for thinking of me :-) the diet is going pretty well thanks, I've lost 4 kilos so far and hoping to lose another 1-2 before I leave for Australia for Christmas.

its hard at the moment with the cold weather and the corniche being blocked off because its not very enticing to get out and exercise. Also my clients are all having christmas parties and there has been a lot of wine... but its SOOO convenient having the food delivered and there. i dont have to worry about what to eat at all, its always just there, ready for my next meal.

and its really good too. I got a bit bored of some of the salads but i have told my dietician so she is giving me the ones i like now.

As for my avatar, that was taken soon after I arrived in Doha. BEFORE i put on another 5 kilos or so, so I'm looking to get back to that "boney" look ha ha ha. really, I'm not boney, that photo is just co-incidentally flattering. I could put before and after pics up but dont think i can make attachments here. oh well, just trust me i was getting rather flabby and now feeling much more normal ;-)
