Need some advice on 2 seater cars
Hi guys,
Im thinking of buying a 2 seater car, but confused...
* Nissan Z 350, can afford to buy a 2004 or 2005 model, do installments for about 3 years, but the new body of z will come out in 2009, so I will be losing alot when i wanna sell it back.
* Mercedes SLK, also 2004 or 2005, same thing as nissan, as the new SLK is coming out in 2010.
* BMW Z4: Hate it !
* Audi TT: the new body is coming out next week in Doha. im thinking of getting it, but my friends are not encouraging me to buy it brand new, they are suggesting to wait for couple of months (like 8 months) then buy a second hand one from the agency for about 20 % less cost. But I dont want to wait 8 months to drive my 2 seater car. My policy is that: if i buy any of the other cars, I will be looking alot after 2 or 3 years, but with the audi, even if i buy a brand new one, I can drive it for the next 6 years, till the look comes out, so even if i lose when I re- sell it after 6 years, I won't feel bad, coz i would have driven and got bored of the car anyways?
Any suggestions or advice?
Serendipity, because of the heat and humidity. Besides being exposed yourself to those elements they also take a toll on the car's interior.
e, why do you say it's only possible to drive a convertible for six months of the year?
I didn't think the Mazda MX5 was sold in Qatar?
I thought only the Mazda 3 and the Mazda 6 were on the market in Qatar?

Is that website waaaaaay out of date? Or are you talking about imports?
A 2 seater in Doha???How funny. With this crazy traffic all around. You cant it really enjoy or is there a way to drive fast on empty streets? And for the desert you need a 4*4.But anyway if you like that go ahead and have fun.:-)))You will choose the right one.
You can drive a convertible for about 6 months a year. the Miata is awesome. Some have doubts about its "masculinity" but it reinvigorated the convertible market when it came out.
Hey Laz,
I have the same confusion, coz I'll be landing in Qatar next week and will be hunting for a 2-seater..
By the way, can you really drive a convertible in Qatar?
What do u think of the new Miata MX5, or Mitsubishi Eclypse Spider?
As for a second-hand car, I'd go for the Z4..
Cheers,
Bill

If you enjoy driving, track down a Honda S2000. They look great, feel great, and the 6 speed manual box is a delight. At first you don't realise how good the car is, because the power only starts to arrive after 4,000rpm. Once you get to 6,000 - 7000, you can wave goodbye to the other cars you mentioned.
Good hunting

The bMw is ok but the thing that i dont like about its design is that you feel the hood of the car is so long and you're sitting all the way at the back of the car. plus the dash board seems so empty. too much simplicity. I lie to have lots of bottuns under my fingers to play around with.but still...I guess when im hunting in the makret, probably next month, Ill get whatever crosses my way and seems a good bargain.
Thnx mate
Get the car you like best and don't worry about resale. You're buying niche cars that aren't as easily resold anyway.
Never buy a car in its first year of production so forget the TT or forget buying a car for a year.
So go for whichever you like more, the SLK or 350. Enjoy driving it, take good care of it and learn the feel of it until it's like second nature.
I'd go for the bimmer!
