Newly pregnant in Qatar!

Hi,

I have just found out that I am pregnant with my first baby which I am very pleased about. We arrived in Doha from the UK 3 months ago.

I have been to Al Alhi hospital for my first appointment but I was not that happy with them.

Is there anyone out there that has had a baby in Qatar and that may be able to give me some advice on where to go and also what questions to ask as the doctors don't seem to be very forthcoming...

Thanks guys

Hi,

Thanks for all this guys, I met Dr Maha and I just didn't find her very helpful, especially with this being my first baby.

Is it OK to change hospitals here as in the UK, you have to stay with the same one?

Congratulations!!! Osh is right, Dr. Khudsia Begum is the best. I used her for all my checks, but finally had the baby at Doha Clinic which cost me close to QAR 30,000 because my baby was in ICU for 5 days. Listen, PM me if you need to. My baby is 11 months, thank God he is healthy and strong. I was very happy with all the support I got.

congratz Crissi, i haven't had a baby yet here in Qatar (but we are trying to have another one, i have a son but he's born in the Phils.), but some of my friends recommended Al Ahli Hospital also, if in doubt always seek second opinion try DOha Clinic Also, haven't been there but i got some tips on my friends that all of their specialist are good but they are not that good in emergency cases. if you have some question regarding pregnancy maybe i can help you since i've been there. congratz again.

Congratulation !!!

Try Dr. Khudsia Begum, her clinic is close to the Aspire stadium, I went to her right up till my delivery, she was excellent, you can ask her all the questions you like she patiently answers them.

As for questions to ask, I got myself this book from Jarir Bookstore " What to expect when your expecting" found it very informative so had loads of questions to ask the doctor on each visit.

Good luck !!!!!!!
