Study Shows  ' No decline in Qtel customer Satisfaction'

A News item in todays Gulf times on page 15 reports that according to a study conducted by an external company for QTEL.  It was found that there was no decline in the customer satisfaction.

Wondering who those satisfied customers are? Any one from QL ?

I just did a speed test and found I'm getting 33mbps from Qtel right now.

Oh, and it's 20 minutes after I last posted and I'm still waiting for the 30 second video to load. The total: 50 minutes so far and I've loaded less than 1/2 of it.

Qtel sucks.

By koolmoedee• 5 Nov 2009 15:57

So slow, so unreliable, so expensive.

I'm on this page typing while I wait 10 minutes for a 30 second video to load. A country this small with so much money should have Internet speeds 10 times as fast for a quarter the price. Compare Qtel to services in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Canada, USA, Finland, etc., etc. etc... name a hundred more countries.

It costs so much for such crap services.

Has anyone here found it possible to play games online?

it sometimes takes an hour before you can speak to an agent in qtel. it just sucks to wait that long with the same tune playing over and over. how many agents do they have to cater for their customers?.. *sigh*

Nice to know that some natural constants remain, well, constant. QTel service being one of them.

As for Amal, we can only hope that the new competition, is well, competitive.

hello n&s we do have the same problem only mine is for ADSL connection. I went thru same process calling 115 almost everyday since 7th of April. Lately I decided to write a letter addressing to Mr. Al Sayed, the Director of Customer Service and handed to one of the personnel of Al Sadd. Sadly still no action was carried out by the technical department until the next day that I decided to write a follow up letter. This time I went to Qtel Tower near Four Seasons Hotel to see personally Mr. Al Sayed. His office is located at the 10th floor. Unluckily I didnt find him there instread I talked to her secretary. After a thirty minutes of waiting, a call emanating from a qtel technical person telling me to check my connection.  When I came home  my connection was already  working. I dont know if  what  is customer  service  are there  for. Surely they only recieve your complain and send them thrash. Qtel is very poor in after sales.

Qtel has a complaint desk at Al Sadd, it's desk number 12. A polite employee will register your complaint on the computer and give you a reference number, and that's the end of the story....

I went there almost 3 weeks ago to complain that my landline is still not working since installation... well until today it is still not working.

i wonder how Q-tel can say good customer satisfaction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! infact the worst service is from Q-tel..... a incident with me.....

i had a land line and ADSL of 512 Kbps and after a year i increased the ADSL speed to 1MB which was monthly 300 riyal and 33 riyal for land line phone.... i used to pay the bill monthly.... on the 2nd month from increasing the speed, when i went to LULU branch to pay monthly bill as usual, i got shocked when the cashier told me the bill amount is 2500 riyal... i discussed with them how it can be this?? but no clue.... no records... then i went to Alsaad branch... went to customer service.. but no clue how this amount came... then i took statement of last 5 months and waited to meet supervisor.. as he told me to wait and will come soon, i waited for 3 hours but could not meet him... the next day i went and meet another supervisor and told him all the story and after a long discussion we found that the new amount monthly 300 riyal has been charged since the ADSL was installed which should be from the month only on which i had increased the speed.. then i registered the complain to biliing dept and waited for some relief... the next month it reached to 3000.. i visited again and again new story and no conclusion.... i was very disappointed.. but could do nothing.. rather than paid all the bill and cancel ADSL and phone line.......this is Q-Tel......

came in competition with Etisalat ... no doubt Etisalat services are excellent but Du successfully grab hundreds of customer due to their offer and calling rates .. with Etisalat if you call from mobile to mobile the charge is 30fils (30dirhams - Qatari) per min... u call for 10 sec or 1 min 30fils are gone but incase of Du they introduced call per second .... if you call for 10 sec you will not be charged 30fils you will be charged like 5fils only for 10sec  ... same call charges applies for international calls !

I think Vodafone will start the same service "Call per Second" which will be really great and will save lots of money specailly for frequent callers or for business !

Compared to saudi's mobily & Jawal, Qtels tariffs are very high. Also Qtel doesnt have the seconds pulse charging and no message of last call charge.

Q-Tel must have definitely tipped the company who conducted the survey. What was the source of survey? BullS***.

Customer support is more like a stress relief poster on a concrete wall which reads ”Hit your head here”

Bunch of *****.  They make me sick… Yukkkkkhhhhhh.

It’s a pity there is no other alternate.  Q-tel should start hiring Professionals who knows the meaning of WORK & Support.

Qtel is the BEST phone company here. They do not even have one competitor who is even close in customer satisfaction. They don't even have one competito!

For example, I pay for 2mb connection and I am forced to be satisfied with 35-96 kbps download speeds in the evenings when every body is online. That is a lot better than and of my other OPTIONS

By anonymous• 16 Apr 2008 18:39

qtel has no notion of customer service. the people who deal with customers seem to be nothing more than trained monkies reading off scripts with no understanding of any issue at hand!

i had problems with my mosaic for three continuous weeks, due to which i had to call their call centre almost daily. after a few days the guy there recognised me"u again "he said!!!!

i didnt know whether to laugh or yell at him.

its not like Qtel didnt try to fix it. i had six different technicians visit my home at sic different times, over the three weeks claiming they had fixed the main box or replaced the old cables with new etc etc etc but the result was always the same!!!!

we eventually got our mosaic disconnected and got adsl only. It has been there but very slow and this morning it disappeared!!!!

i cant call international numbers from my landline because i get connected to wrong numbers or fax machines every single time. its been three weeks since i complained but so far no help from qtel!!!!!!!

can there be more dissatisfaction????

Hey dude, Customer service isnt the only way to get to the top 20 in the world...think about that for a moment, at the rate at which they are acquiring companies outside Qatar, that is also one way to get to the top 20 buddy...

And come on folks, QTel isnt that bad, its just that they are bad because they own the monopoly, and we dont have anyone else to blame or hate...

Just wait till the 2nd operator, lets see how they get things done....
