pizza express!!!! what a disappointment

By lamea

some time back i had asked about the best pizza in town and some ppl had recommended pizza express. well tonight we actually and tried it and found it to be grossly overpriced and definitely not its money worth. the pizza was okay but the calzone i ordered was stone cold from the inside. very disappointing ?!
am i the only one or have others experienced bad service there too?

1- King Of Fatayer:

Coming from Corniche and going on your way to the Fire Department roundabout, take the roundabout straight and before you reach the traffic lights just go right as if you are going to Al-Ahli hospital ... Go straight and you will see again a traffic light, take it left ... go straight until you reach a roundabout ... take the roundabout U-Turn and come back ... after the mosque to the right you will see a small shop just drive slowly and you will see it.

The other shop is kind of tricky to give directions, but some Turkish restaurants got good fatayer too.

I think it can depend on how busy the place is. If it's busy, the ovens will be hot and the pizza is bubbling and mostly good. We've been when business is slow and they heat the ovens for just a couple of pizzas which are cold by the time they reach table - hate it when all the topping just slides off the base 'cos it has all started to congeal. Pizza Express is quite good in places where it's busy - here it seems to be full of kids' parties, still, if it keeps the ovens hot...

you mean like fatayer shops that make pizza or the pizza houses like pizza hut, yellow cab and the rest?

Shops:

I prefer the guys near Al-Rayya School, King Of Fatayer his fatayer is really nice.

There is also near Al-Meera behind that one next to One independent school ... they have nice Fatayer ... actually some like Naoora, they got nice fatayer but a little bit sweet ...

Pizza houses you know, but to me it is ...

Yellow Cab & Sbarro

WHY Not??

or pizza only comes from Italy

There is a particular restaurant in Spain that makes the best pizza. I love it more than one I had in Rome.

the waiting line to the restaurant is more than 200 m long

but in general, the quality of hospitality service in Doha is below average. SO, relatively speaking, you will be lucky to get an average service.
