helo to everyone, im working in EMS(Emergency Medical Service) and i would like to bring out some problems we have been encountering in the road toward other driver.

PLS CONSIDER when we are in the traffic jam and we suddenly put on our siren and beacon doesnt mean that were just avoiding traffic, its because sometimes they just call us on our radio to respond to somewhere even if were in the middle of traffic. were just doing our job and we dont mean to shout our horn in ur back....and pls dont flick your head light in our back because its hard to drive the big ambulance and some ambulance has no rear mirror.

any comments about our driving pls send comments...tnx

Oh I don't get mad at those people, I need to release my stress every once in a while, and cursing at complete strangers is a perfect way! (provided they don't hear u ofcourse:D)

I just don't get why they speed so much and go through so much trouble to go ahead of everyone...but we end up next to eachother at the traffic light...haha morons!

the road...BUT, you did what you were supposed to do, so feel good about that Corne...Sometimes its better to come in a bit slower than to get to hell as fast as you can... :)

We should always move for ambulances, sometimes a few minutes is all it takes to save or lose a life. I try to move as much as I can, and then end up cursing at the cars that try to get away with the ambulance :D

for some info...sometimes u can see us with siren and beacon but why we are driving to slow?

Its because we have a patient inside and crew who provide pre-hospital care, inserting an IV fluid or doing CPR and sometimes they are standing inside...so what will happen if we drive to fast???it doesn't mean getting to the hospital as fast as u can save the life of ur patient we also consider the safety of our partner inside, and doesn't mean that driving an ambulance is safe...accident happen anytime.

There are some things in life where it's better to receive than to give, and MASSAGE IS ONE OF THEM.....

I always try and get out of the way of ambulances, but most of the time others don't. I've gotten up on the median just to get away.

But most people do try and get out of the way of ambulances. Sometimes it just is not possible to do so. On occasion, I have seen a regular car (not ambulance or cops) with his hazards on, flashing his lights and honking his horn to get through traffic. People move out of the way as if it is an emergency vehicle. Who are these guys and how do they get away with it?

Angels of mercy, in Egypt no body care about ambulance cars, and it is very normal for them to get stuck in the road till patients die (it is very very common) ...... long live civilised Qatar

I do my best to cut off ambulance tail-gaters. I position my car to move in right behind the ambulance. I time my car to nudge in right after the ambulance drives by. Then I just sit there and wait. Then we all usually blend into the traffic again and move back into our respective lanes. It takes careful timing and quick action. If I get into an accident, so be it. I play chicken (like this) with drivers who try to cut in front of me. Of course, I let in drivers who are legitamitely coming in from a right entrance.

I wish I didn't feel the need to do it. It is a game of chicken but it seems so absurd that people (usually LandCruisers) would tailgate ambulances to beat a traffic jam. Ambulances get first priority, then the rest of us!

They need to wait like the rest of us!

Guess I don't understand the mindset of some people...guess they think they will never be INSIDE one of those vehicles..

well.... we cant do nothing for those guys who tailgate us,its that when they bump us at the back its just another problem for us.

Yup guys he has a point. I’ve seen people doing that they flash their lights when they are in a traffic behind an ambulance and there are others who don’t give the ambulance way.

But I think that the Ambulances on our roads in Qatar should be given priority no matter what because they are on their way to an emergency or to the hospital with a patient . In either case every second is important.

Well no other comments but I just want to tell the entire EMS team that we guys are counting on you’ll in the case of an emergency and you all do a terrific job… Keep it up…

Regards

Antonio
