Points, fines or courses

I was just reading a few of the posts in relation to traffic offences and the punishments given.
In the US and UK when you have a minor offence you have the option of waiving points and reduced fine if you attend a driving awareness class for a few days.
Maybe thats something that would work here? and if you don't attend lets double the fine !
Any thoughts?
