It can buy a house, but not a home.

It can buy a bed, but not sleep.

It can buy a clock, but not time.

It can buy a book, but not knowledge.

It can buy you a position, but not respect.

It can buy you medicine, but not health.

It can buy you blood, but not life.

It can buy you sex, but not love.

So you see money isn't everything, and it often causes pain and suffering.

I tell you this, because I am your friend, and as your friend I want to take away your pain and suffering. So send me all your money and I will suffer for you!

Cash is fine.

There are a lot of people from Africa area, coming up with every kind of scam you can think of! I have gotten emails about cashing Traveler Checks, and they are fake checks, they make their selfs! What happens is they ask someone who already has an account, they deposit it in there account, which is usually around $3000, and they send the money to them, and by the time the bank realizes that they are fake, the person who had deposit them owe the bank $3000, and they only got 10 % of it! Also, they are getting parrot lovers to send them money to pay for shipping of fake birds, but we need to get to them animal lovers and let them know that they can't even ship Parrots from International Countries! It is very said that they are doing this to people in the United States, because a lot of people are getting screwed, and it is mostly old people, that don't know better!

We've just added a feature to hide e-mail address from spambots. It should stop this from happening.

Of course, to really be safe you should enable your contact form and ask people to use the contact form instead of posting your e-mail (but this would limit the number of people who may contact u for a classified to registered users)

Having worked in Banking most of my life - it is common to receive these sorts of emails (known as Phishing) - ignore them - they are all pathetic traps for the trusting among us.

For the information of anyone else - if you get any of these unsolicitored emails - usually from Nigeria but increasingly from other African sources asking you to open an account for them to deposit a recent windfall (and for which you will be amply rewarded) - ignore and delete immediately.

Sounds obvious doesn't it - but there's always a victim out there it seems.

Yes - Me too! put up a post about room to rent.

Got a couple of folk claiming to be models coming over!

And a couple of folk claiming to be Born again Christians coming over.

Since placing the ad. I have been getting a lot of that West African banking spam.

Use your common sense - ask to meet people or phone them.

If you are naive, insipid or lack common sense, enough too compromise your economical life savings to a fool, thieve, bacillus, deceiving and dangerous individual/s with no respect to you or anyone, then you be my guest in doing so with your personal information. Let me now the outcome. I have my box of tissues ready at hand and a big smile portraying: "I told you about Scams".

I rather take my chance in giving a couple of dollars too a beggared in a wheel chair without legs in the streets of USA. At least he is in worst condition than me.

Don't take the chance, there are so many scammers on here. They are sending e-mails to everyone along with posting their notorious "Nokia" scams.

Was this in response to your advert (i.e. did their e-mail reference what you were selling) or was it just a general e-mail?
