Purchasing SKYPE Credits
My Skype credits ran out this week and when I attempted to buy more I kept getting the response that the purchase "failed". I eventually sent an e-mail to Skype and was informed that Skype no longer accepts payments from certain ISP's and proxy servers where their security could be compromised.
In other words Qatar, or more accurately Q-Tel, are a "suspect" ISP in Europe now. I recall reading somewhere that this happened in the past where credit cards from the Middle East were all considered a "risk" due to fraudulent activities that took place out of Qatar.
My question - how many other people have had a similar experience and how have you overcome it? I have tried Yahoo Messenger in the past but the sound quality with Yahoo is not as good as Skype and the calls are more expensive as well. What other VOIP systems are being used successfully out of Qatar?
I look forward to suggestions and experiences.
Have a great weekend.

First you need to join paypal.com, then you need to associate your paypal account with skype from your account on skype.com (under payments). You'll then have the option to buy credit with paypal.
I have the same problem. Qtel is the reason behind it. Can somebody tell me how to join paypal? skype doesn't give an option to apply for paypal. Plus any other pc to phone services avaialble here?
connection is very fast and voice quality is excellent and charges for paid countries are much cheaper even they give 200 free hours for some countries!
I have only used for Pakistan/UAE/USA/CANADA & UK. rest of the world I have not experienced yet.

you can also check out freevoip.com . They apparently give you free calling for upto 120 days or something to certain countries ( USA ,most euro ) if you buy credit from them .Read their FAQ. A a friend of mine in UK called me here in the States and it was good.
I use PayPal very sucsesfully to buy skype credits. I even linked it to my local internet card and it works 100%.
as already suggested if you have a PayPal a/c try using that. Not sure about about specific blacklisted ISP or countries .You might also wanna try using a different credit card.
Try paying for your Skype credits through PayPal. That may get you round the problem if your PayPal account is linked to a bank account outside of Qatar.
try the gtalk, it is not blocked
