Its not only nepalese who are abused in india, you will find equal number of indians doing similar natured job in Nepal.Extremely low paid workers are hired from India.

Guys if you are talking about qatar, there are equal or more number of indians and srilankans working as well.

Companies would prefer Indian workers but Qatar government is restricting Indian Visa.

Why companies hire these workers,

because their supervisors are mostly from Indian Subcontinent so that they can communicate with them. They are cheap.

Workers from Myanmar and vietnam are also cheap but they are not hired because of communication problem.

Its not only nepalese who end up in Iraq or Afganistan, go and see there friend you will find people of more than 100 nationality earning for living there.

Please do not generalise any subject without having adequate knowledge about it.

Dint really mean to hurt anyones sentiments..But was just pissed cos, these nepalese guys really actually toil in the hot sun, work in any job whatsoever, just so they could send a little hardearned money back home to support their families..I know and work alongside people who get QR 300 per month, officially (After the so called revised labour laws) and they live in accomodations, where any normal person wouldnt even step into, and all this with very big companies recruting them...

I agree people have the right to spend the money they earn on whatever, but if some one, on a scale of 1 to 10, works 10+ and gets paid is wrong...whereas, if he works 3/10 and gets paid 6/10, oh yes he can surely spend that money wherever or take a loan..

And yes Pothole Research, I am not and will never be jealous of lebbos or whoever...

Thats it guys..

Apologies again..

Scorpio - Yeah, Alaysa II (the meat shop) was closed down (I think). That was a couple of years back (about when I left Oz). I lived right next to Sydney road around North Brunswick / Coburg.

Did you ever have the pies at A1 bakery on Sydney Road? Another one of my fav Lebanese food places.

And not to forget - Kebab Station near Coles in Coburg. I'm not gonna get started on my fav Greek places now. All this food talk has made me very hungry.

"They wouldnt work. They just like to own BMWs and have a rich lifestyle even if they are earning 2K a month...Thats a harsh reality to be accepted...Sorry.."

----> it is their money ... if they owe to bank loan also under their name (you not paying their loan aren't u). They the one who have to pay the bill. Who cares they earn 2k or 20k, everyone spend their money differently. Some saving like mad. Save live like there is no tomorrow. Some spend it on nice hols, some buy a house. Thats the reality... sorry ...

nepalese, filipinos, pakistanis, indians, egyptians, syrians you see them toiling under the sun. The rest you wont find them. The europeans because they get paid much better in their own countries than over here.

Lebanese/palestinaians the less said the better.

No one has any complaints about any nationality enjoying the way they want to be.

The person who started off the thread first went cricized Qatarization for him getting denied a visa, Then he says qatar is becoming a nepalese land.

Nepalese are generally well mannered and hard working people. With extremeley high levels of physical endurance.

This is enough for me to chose a Nepalese over any other nationality if I ever want to hire a worker, or hire a sherpa to climb a mountain in the Himalayas. BTW, I don't intend to do any of the above in the near future.

Currently I have a Nepalese doing my housekeeping. A hard working honest lad ready to take any order. Makes me feel guilty of being a slave master. (I'm not, BTW)

Also, they are easily exploited. Hence the gulf arabs love for Nepalese labour.

Khaledj - No ones jealous of Lebbos. Why should they? They make such good friends. And, cook such great food. Alaysa (in Melbourne), a lebbo restaurant was my all time favourite.

Nepalese, Filipino, Indian, Lebanese, African, American, French... and all the rest here in Qatar. We are all the same.. working here to have a better life. So, stop saying whatever as if you own the country.

Just realize that it's a great mix of people. Seriously! ;)

What other nationalities can we pick on today? We seem to be getting through the list pretty quickly.....stop generalizing!!

is it jealousy?

if Lebanese like to live life and like to enjoy it, why do you bother?

money is made to be spent and is to serve us, so if we use it to serve us, what is wrong with that?

live and let live

Well why don't you go and work for 500 QR a month?....I don't think people are tooooo arrogant and proud for not wanting to work for 500 a month, do you?

Will the Lebanes/palestinians? do the work that these poor nepalese do. No never they are toooooo arrogant and proud to do such kind of work. All they like is to boss around.

it has to do with the visa's that are issued.. not the salaries..

if the Qatari government allows other nationality visas. you will c them abundant in Doha

Nepalese workforce in Qatar is mainly a large group of very low paid construction workers whose living conditions could be described as miserable. Why them? I guess no other nationality would want to be in their shoes.

nepali labour is damn cheap. they are usually paid less than 500 riyals a month, and they are really hard working. it is simple economics my dear. do u really think that the lebanese and palestinians will do similar work so such low wages???
