As requested by many of our posters, lets get together for a souq visit so we can purchase ourselves some very elegant clothing, of a different kind.
Date: Saturday April 1
Time: 9am (Souqs close by 12)
Venue: Souq Waqif on Hamad Street (bank street)
RSVP: [email protected] or on the thread.

Let me know if this will suit you all.

See my new thread titled 'Thobe Shopping", all the details are there for gents to join us on Saturday night.

I made a mistake and placed it under Qatari Culture and not as a socialising topic, so it might be that some people have missed it...

Apologies, but now you know where to look.

I think you're right Xena :-)

About my beloved uncle :-) , well I'm sure he'd love to come along but I'll get my cousin instead hehe. Poor Fahad he just doesn't speak enough English you know (not yet). So he won’t be much of a help. Fahad you’re the best, man :-) Get me right ;-)

Let's know first wether the gents are coming or not. My cousin is a 22 year-old Qatari man. You'll like him. And my younger brother Muhammed will come as well looool seems like I'll bring the whole family hehe

Gosh I'm so excited!

joining us on Saturday evening at 6pm at the souqs.... Best place to meet will be behind Souq Waqif, in the parking lot at the back. Thats where all the traditional clothing shops are.

Is that right, Aisha?

Aisha.... you are the guide on this expedition... we have some gents joining us I think so could you organise for your uncle Fahad to join us and help them with their purchases...

sorry, its been a nightmare logging in here the last two days...

firstly, yes it should have read Saturday 31st March, my humble apologies...

Secondly, it would seem like the majority are looking at the afternoon visit. So lets make it at 6pm, then anyone who works on Saturdays, will be able to make it to....

Aisha... you getting any of this?

I say 5:00. I would like to thank you ladies for such an idea. My wife has been bugging me for the last month to go Abaya shopping. I think this will spur me into action :-). It will also save me from the dreaded "how does this look questions" and sitting impatiently on the stool by the door. I can go drink tea and eat kababs in peace

True that 9:00 AM is a bit harsh for most of us (speaking of myself right now).

Charmed can't you change it? I'll be glad to meet some QL people ;)

If its saturday morning then I'll join for sure. Not that I need qatari clothes (although an abaya must be a great way to hide my big pregnant belly!) but I always enjoy visits to the souqs.

See you there, hopefully xxx
