QAWS :: Volunteers Urgently Needed Tomorrow!
QAWS has reached desperation level now and we need to get a temporary facility up and running in the next couple of days. The plan is to construct a minimum of 30 pens that can hold the dogs temporarily until a more permanent structure can be built. As it's coming into winter, air conditioning is not a problem so they will be more then happy being outside. Each dog will have it's own run with a crate/kennel in it and they will all be covered runs to keep them out of the sun.
We will be starting to build tomorrow and Saturday!!
We desperately need the following:
- Any unwanted plastic or wooden dog travel crates (we need at least 30) - preferably the larger sizes as a lot of our dogs are not small!!
- Volunteers to help construct the metal frames, attach the fencing and concrete them down.
- Volunteers that can walk the dogs and help with cleaning so that the guys can help build.
I know it's short notice but we're getting the materials today and would like to start tomorrow so it'll be ready as soon as possible.
There'll be plenty to do from levelling off the ground to mixing concrete so anyone who doesn't mind getting a bit dirty is more then welcome to come and help! We do recommend however that you wear old clothes and no open toed shoes as it can get quite mucky!!
Please find the location map at www.qaws.org or call Kelly on 539 6074 for more info.
Thank you - we'll see you this afternoon!! We can find quieter jobs for those with delicate heads!!
