I refuse to sit in the middle of the room at a little table for two- I need a private booth or i'm not eating in there. I don't like people looking at me.

The man was rude and the soup was cold, then they tried to tell us it was supposed to be cold- I had to almost yell at the waitress before she agreed to heat it up.

Never again

had my first and last visit to RL the other day.

yes the food is not too expensive for doha but the service was bad the tables to close together & for me food over seasoned and rice horrible.

yes the soup was excellant could have eatten more of that.

the place is as stated above in Al Sadd, on the way to La Cigal, Toys are us, if coming from city centre before Blue salon & opersite Rogers dinner.

Only 5* hotels allowed to have liquor licence & not all do.

Take something warm to where.

one big issue is the wait times..

for 2 the dinner was about 250qr..add the tip 300...

if you go ask for a booth, as the chairs at the tables are not padded..

to me the food was ok, but nothing great...

the coconut shrimp is tasty..

Certainly doesn't sound that great then.TFS Bull. That was some story! Guess the guy just didn't appreciate honest reviews.

From what I hear though the Doha branch is doing quite good, but again so are many fast food joints and they are not all up to the mark. If I am to spend an average of 100QR pp on a meal, I'd want the food to be really impressive. Will just wait awhile before trying them out myself so they'd be done with their teething problems,if any!

that you are so used to garbage that KFC and Red Lobster tastes good in comparision? Nobody likes KFC or Red Lobster here while they are wildly popular in Qatar-This tells me the food is not good here

Back to my banning..I played cards with an obnoxious guy once in the 80's- He was $50 lite on a pot he lost so he told me he managed a Red Lobster and to come on in for dinner on him. Me and Lil Precious (the x wife) went in and we ordered almost everything on the menu. My wife was a little embarrassed but this guy was a real greasball so I ordered away..We weren't impressed and when he asked us how it was I let him know it wasn't that great. He apologized profusely and told us to come back anytime- We came back the next week and quite frankly I wasn't impressed again, he apologized and told us to come back again and he will "cook it himself" next time. I decided that I would never be impressed and I was gonna get as many free meals as I could get off this creep. Next time the guy served us personally, and guess what? I wasn't impressed and I told him so and when I did that he said something like "Get your sh!* and get the F outta my resturaunt!" and he said "if you ever come back" he was going to "call the police".. I got about $450 worth of food and drinks for a $50 debt, and honestly..I never really was impressed with the food and I seriously doubt it's any better at the Qatar Red Lobster

It is very weird because what you are saying applies to other chains like apple bees. Apple bees in the US is so bad.. Doha apple bees is really not bad. I guess it all goes down to the Halal and organic vegis..

I have been to Red Lobster in the US several times, I can assure you that the one in Doha is far superior to the US counterpart.

I was there days ago, and the food was very good better than the seafood buffet in Rotana and the price is comparable to the US also.

Next time I will have the Lobster, yummii.

I hope not Brit, alcohol free beer is just wrong, call it bloody soft drink and be done with it. Love that recipe PG, PM me if you can, and have the Cuban dark Run in the liquor cabinet, the trusty Havana Club....

Does Heineken make alcohol free beer ?

By anonymous• 12 Jun 2012 13:10

lol..

Heinecken, Stella and Becks could def do it for me.

I tried making them at home.. after I the secret from the waitress at Red Lobster in the US. I gave her something in return of course.

If interested, I can give you the secret. You need dark Cuban Rhum for the sauce.

By Raven1968• 12 Jun 2012 13:06

PG somehow I think a load of good shrimp washed down with Barbican won't cut the mustard.....now a few ice cold Heinecken and now we're talking...just have to make the coconut shrimp at home!

By anonymous• 12 Jun 2012 13:01
anonymous

Yeah man Coconut shrimps with the pinacolada sauce is wats poppin

The trick is to overeat and have lots of beer (or barbican lol)

You know what I hate the most in these chains?.. The family section idea and the men only section lol.. what a g*y friendly environment.

Went to the RL at the Dubai Mall and was pretty good, def not fast food quality, way better than that. Scallops were big fatties and cooked perfect. Yes PG they had coconut shrimp, and dam good they were indeed. Might try the Doha branch and see how they compare with Dubai.

Now I am confused...to try out or not to try out? Perhaps the Doha branch maybe, better? In any case I've been dying to taste scallops, and as far as my chow knowledge goes, they are not available in any of the non 5 star restos, so will give it a go,and hope for the best!

Why are lobsters red ?

By anonymous• 12 Jun 2012 12:38

heheh wait until you come here and see the line up in the drive through of Mcdonald... Not only SUPER over priced, people in here have the worst taste in food. Take them to a good restaurant, they would hate it and always.. Quantity instead of Quality.

Red Lobster is so bad, what a shame to associate sea food with it.

By Manna Pro• 12 Jun 2012 02:33

It's the Mcdonalds of seafood, I strongly suggest everyone avoid the place. I haven't eaten there since the 80's when we were poor. It's widely considered crap in America

FYI

I am really eager to have their clam chowder soup again!
