i worked for 4 years here in qatar.i filed my resignation a month. as per qatar law i gave a one month notice. am i liable to the company if i stop working? mt company sadi i need a replacement before i can go home. is the legal?what is the exact law on expat when we resign. what step can i do?go to labour or my my embassy? i want to go home in my country as early as possible and i wont extend here in my company and in qatar. please help me.. i have no idea on this matter.

I think you also have to check what is stated in your contract and the compay policy, it has bearing particularly because you have agreed on the company policy the moment you've signed the contract with your company.

my problem is. can they hold me? delay my exit? for sure their excuse will be. they cant find replacement.

what action i can take? legal action? i don't want to extend i must go home before December.

yes it was approved by my director. hes note is " replace him". so we both agree to terminate our contract

as per qatar labour law and as per international labour law....resignation need not to be approved. it is only a matter of formality in your side. you can approach the authorities and complain.

u acted right way. Getting a replacement is Management's headache. U can go to labour and file a case with copy of ur resignation letter.
