Resons for some meals going missing

Good old joe
By Good old joe

Air India has issued a circular asking cabin crew to behave themselves mid-air, in the face of many complaints about them consuming passengers' meals and their boisterous guffaws in the galley area.

Since the complaints came from first class passengers, the airline wasted no time in issuing the fresh circular on September 5

A senior AI official said the airline was getting complaints that cabin crew ate the passengers' meals in front of passengers during the flights.

In each flight, the meals are uplifted as per the number of passengers and the cabin crew keeps some of the food packets for their consumption during flights.

In the circular, the airline has instructed the cabin crew to be restrained while eating their personal and the airline's meals. As per some complaints, on many occasions, cabin crew group together to eat meals in the aircraft, delaying the response time to attend to passengers' call during flights.

The giftpacks are amusing. Mine contained a signed picture of the Airhostess in a sulty pose, a 5QR voucher (expired) to be redeemed at Rizks' Paani Poori and Papadom Emporium. A tube of "fair & Lovely" and some henna paste.

Well. The age and the experience that comes with it is what makes them that much more special. You cannot stay young, beautiful and twenty one for ever.

Once I flew from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi in Air India business class. Excellent meals and finally they gave a gift pack to all in the business class. The air-hostess is in colorful saries but bit aged I think.

Well atleast Air India is frank and open about its short comings but what about this so called 5 star airlines in Dubai and Doha They promise you the moon and once you are booked and hooked you realize an airline like Air India was better after all.

If the meals are as good as the AI website describes them, no wonder they were being stolen. I feel like flying AI just to have one of their meals.

----

The exotic blend of herbs and spices, and the intricate preparatory methods, are all intended to let the aromas and flavors sink into the fare and your senses. Not only does the food smell or look gorgeous, it fires your appetite until you and your taste buds succumb to temptation. And the seduction is total! Efforts to resist indulgence often prove futile. But you will feel no remorse because such sublime and experiences are a step closer to spirituality.

Air India lets you savour the very essence of India that has transcended boundaries to gain worldwide awe and recognition.

Come, embark on an epic culinary voyage and rediscover your inner self.

By anonymous• 19 Sep 2012 11:10

It is not always avoidable, given a chance we do avoid it.

They are not cheap either, costs almost as much as Qatar Airways or Emirates at most times when its a direct flight.

Once my wife flew on Air India and they gave hand written boarding passes which were rejected by the security causing a delay at the airport. No matter what amount I am paying to an airlines, I do expect them to print boarding passes.

TDKR, its crap airlines so why to use it?? u should rather avoid it n get a better one, also i beleive that their price is less than the other airlines so abviously the service will b cheap. the more u give the better u get and vice versa.

Since the incident is reported from the first class (better quality)the cabin crew is not interested in the food of economy class.

Last time I flew Air India, one member of the cabin crew advised me "Son don't drink alcohol, its not good for your health" when I ordered a drink!

After reading this, I think maybe aunty ji wanted all the alcohol for herself!
