Resons for some meals going missing
Air India has issued a circular asking cabin crew to behave themselves mid-air, in the face of many complaints about them consuming passengers' meals and their boisterous guffaws in the galley area.
Since the complaints came from first class passengers, the airline wasted no time in issuing the fresh circular on September 5
A senior AI official said the airline was getting complaints that cabin crew ate the passengers' meals in front of passengers during the flights.
In each flight, the meals are uplifted as per the number of passengers and the cabin crew keeps some of the food packets for their consumption during flights.
In the circular, the airline has instructed the cabin crew to be restrained while eating their personal and the airline's meals. As per some complaints, on many occasions, cabin crew group together to eat meals in the aircraft, delaying the response time to attend to passengers' call during flights.

ah...you mean the toothbrush , hairbrush, earplugs etc......I never considered to call that a gift....well, why not actually...;)
I was in Mahraja class :O)
it was set of makeup items. Only for the business class passengers.
The giftpacks are amusing. Mine contained a signed picture of the Airhostess in a sulty pose, a 5QR voucher (expired) to be redeemed at Rizks' Paani Poori and Papadom Emporium. A tube of "fair & Lovely" and some henna paste.
You get gift packs at Air India? What are the gifts?????
Well. The age and the experience that comes with it is what makes them that much more special. You cannot stay young, beautiful and twenty one for ever.
Once I flew from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi in Air India business class. Excellent meals and finally they gave a gift pack to all in the business class. The air-hostess is in colorful saries but bit aged I think.
BG u dnt reply to irrelevant comments but ur irrelevant comments are always been replied ....:D
No, you just make them.
PP i dont reply to irrelevant comments
Well atleast Air India is frank and open about its short comings but what about this so called 5 star airlines in Dubai and Doha They promise you the moon and once you are booked and hooked you realize an airline like Air India was better after all.
If the meals are as good as the AI website describes them, no wonder they were being stolen. I feel like flying AI just to have one of their meals.

The exotic blend of herbs and spices, and the intricate preparatory methods, are all intended to let the aromas and flavors sink into the fare and your senses. Not only does the food smell or look gorgeous, it fires your appetite until you and your taste buds succumb to temptation. And the seduction is total! Efforts to resist indulgence often prove futile. But you will feel no remorse because such sublime and experiences are a step closer to spirituality.
Air India lets you savour the very essence of India that has transcended boundaries to gain worldwide awe and recognition.
Come, embark on an epic culinary voyage and rediscover your inner self.

This is the first time I've heard of airline meals being so good people actually want to eat them.
ROFL @ Personal Touch & Hand written boarding Pass..hahahaha
" ...They offer that extra "personal touch" which other airlines don't .."
Brit, wasn't that Qatar Airways' slogan: Taking you more personally?
Haha good one!
Tell her that it shows you care. They offer that extra "personal touch" which other airlines don't ..
They said, "we are having some technical difficulties!".. My wife always brings that up during an argument "YOU BOOKED MY TICKET ON AN AIRLINES WHICH ISSUES HAND WRITTEN BOARDING PASSES!"
or might be out of electricity - we have many excuses, you see...:)
The printer was probably out of Toner :O(
TDR, u really made me laugh with that hand boarding passes.
what ? Hand written boarding passes ? OMG....how poor....lols
It is not always avoidable, given a chance we do avoid it.
They are not cheap either, costs almost as much as Qatar Airways or Emirates at most times when its a direct flight.
Once my wife flew on Air India and they gave hand written boarding passes which were rejected by the security causing a delay at the airport. No matter what amount I am paying to an airlines, I do expect them to print boarding passes.
emy we say becoz its our airline and even if we dont like it we will still keep using it....wats the problem in that
NO britey, it means they look like Lady GaGa...:(
Aunty Ji ?
Does that mean they look like Asin or Freida Pinto ?
TDKR, its crap airlines so why to use it?? u should rather avoid it n get a better one, also i beleive that their price is less than the other airlines so abviously the service will b cheap. the more u give the better u get and vice versa.
And then it also had some relevance to Qatar and QatarLiving!
If you don't like it fly Qatar Airways.
emy respect for what? Its a crap airlines with crap service. Why should I respect that just because they happen to be Indian?
Most of you here are indian and see how u talk about ure people... comeon have some respect for them its really shame.
me to eagerly waiting for kerala airways :)
is this the reason tat most of the air hostess looks like aunty ji in tat flight ? :(
Since the incident is reported from the first class (better quality)the cabin crew is not interested in the food of economy class.
Last time I flew Air India, one member of the cabin crew advised me "Son don't drink alcohol, its not good for your health" when I ordered a drink!
After reading this, I think maybe aunty ji wanted all the alcohol for herself!
can't wait for Kerala Airlines to start operations :O)
no wonder, most of the call buttons are faded and some are broken too - due to ANGER....hehehe
".....on many occasions, cabin crew group together to eat meals in the aircraft, delaying the response time to attend to passengers' call during flights."
I can just picture this happening whilst passengers are pressing the call buttons :O)
adamtaar, it is only 24% of the total population of Qatar.
man babur be professional, why you are always searching for related or non related items?
thanks mohdata
Not to mention easily amused too..pity for them that the passengers failed to see the funny side, though. And now they are in a soup. Enough to lose one's appetite, which in their case will not be a bad thing!
you are one weird personality buddy..don't you get sick of evaluating each topic's relevance to qatar?..oh well, who am i trying to reason with?
"fresh parotha and papadoms"....REALLY is it Fresh ? :(
but i wonder how can the cabin crew eat the passengers meals infront of the passengers...lols - were they mocking the passengers ? :)
Baburao-Ganpatr... Yes..!!!! and certainly more then you and me as it has a long history of trade with Qatar which goes a long way back much before Qatar airways came on the scence
I always wanted to fly First class..
Those lovely dusky airhostesses in bright colured saris and exquisite smiles..
Not to forget the exotic dishes served up with fresh parotha and papadoms..
If only :o(
45% of the population in Qatar is Indian who else works here ? that is the govt problem not indian problem hehe
we get Lays chips and cheese sandwhich
no but apparently 45% of the population in Qatar is inidian
by the way, wat meal do we get in an Air India flight ?
is air india related to qatar ?
