Saudi arrests 30 for nudity and Satan worship

By halalbilal

Saudi Arabia’s religious police arrested 30 people Friday during a mixed gender party in Riyadh, claiming that the people involved were “Satan worshippers,” local media reported.

Those arrested included Americans, Europeans, Saudis and other Arabs, a member of the police body tweeted Saturday.

“The arrested were participating in their Satanic rituals and parading around the fire [naked]. Unfortunately, some of them were Saudis,” the official wrote.

The statement by the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the kingdom’s religious police body, also said that the party-goers were consuming alcohol and using drugs while listening to loud music.

One of the Americans arrested was accused of pushing drugs.

Separately, Kuwaiti forces raided a beach party arresting 76 people at a gathering involving “illegal activities,” local news reported Sunday without specifying the date of the arrests.

Forty-nine men and 27 women were arrested in the campaign after neighbors of the chalet complained that youth renting the place were holding open air dance parties that included alcohol and “immoral acts” were taking place.

Alcohol is banned in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Very true, the religious police are a stain on humanity and should be tried for crimes against humanity. How a supposedly modern government allows them to operate is a scandal and they should be disbanded immediately so normal people can get on with their lives without interference.

As one of the 30 arrested, let me just tell you there was no nudity at all. There are YouTube videos of the bust. I think you'll correct your theories of it being a raging parting. 30 hippies in the dessert mostly sitting round a fire with no dancing with certain Indian symbols since most of us visit goa. But hay believe what you want. The religious police have ruined many lives due to lies - we won't be the first or last.

We all know that laws r never made because of religion...religion is only a tool

But specifically in the case of saudi...its a known historical fact that most members of the royal family including the current king r open minded...but it they chose to run the country in the way ppl wanted to be run back then...based on religion...which leaves no loop holes to walk away from laws...religion doesnt change so laws shouldnt unless u denounce religion...needless to say thats undoable in land considered holy by muslim....its like the vatican denouncing Catholicism

Other gcc countries were smart enough to base their laws on culture....cultures change/evolve...especially in mideast

By Rip Cord• 28 May 2013 11:01

What they did was stupid and they deserve to be punished. We all know if you have a drink in your house with friends in Qatar or Saudi no harm will come to you and even locals will come and have a drink, but you don't rub it in their faces in public. That is sheer stupidity

Super Cool...for sure it exists and cover ups also exist. However, in case of Saudi, specially, things are different or that is how they are made to appear being a country which has laws based on religion which explicity says what is acceptable and what is not. So then to enforce the same onto someone else while not following themselves makes things different.

Do u really think that power above the law doesn't exist outside Saudi??? The source of power changes from money to fame to connection to diplomatic immunity to royal blood, but it's all power and exists everywhere...except they do a better cover up of it elsewhere.

I guess generally no one denies that rules exist and need to be followed. However, the clash leading to disobedience (I hope I am ok to use this word) happens when it is applied differently depending on ones standing. If the people who endorse such laws for enforcement themselves flout those laws, the laws themselves look like a mockery. So then to say, follow the rules else bear the consequences looks like hypocricy.

Back in 2007 a man in Tabook who was suspected of

“Homemade liquor business” was beaten to death.

His vehicle was trapped, one man was dead.

Govt press said man assaulted the religious police,

Bystander witnesses said man was unarmed, tried to make an escape but he was caught by the police who beat him to his death.

I don't care what ppl believe in....ur belief is ur choice and it's inside ur head u can live it and love it and no one can take it away from u...but I also believe in laws and following them...i dont believe in chaotic societies...laws r not always gonna be fallable, and they should be ever changing/evolving...but unless abolished or changed they should be respected AND FOLLOWED.

No excuses r acceptable for breakin the law except for life/death situations. and I dont subject myself to living in a place where I cannot follow the law. if i do IT'S ON ME.

Such Satanic rituals do happen... it looks funny only when its mentioned about party and alcohol..

Partying & drunk people do not prance around a fire NAKED!

Bal Thakere (the Shiv Sena Party Chief) is one who participated in such rituals... it was during one such ritual in a farm house near Pune that his wife died...

Satan Worship is not the issue here HELLO!!! Don't try to diffuse the situation!!!

It's just moronic how some try to make it seem the rest of what happened was "acceptable" just as long as Satan Worship is not an issue...Oh the issue is not bad enough.... it was just a drunken drugged orgy...never mind the use of controlled substances (drugs and alcohol) and never mind the public orgy!!! That's illegal EVERYWHERE!!!

bad enough and worthy of a VERY stern action.
