Is Sepp Blatter actually a Moron ?

Or does he just pretend to be ??

Fifa president Sepp Blatter is worried that the Premier League's worldwide appeal is damaging the global game.

"I have my concerns because the Premier League is the strongest in the world, definitely," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"It is taking over in such a manner that the other leagues have difficulties to match it."

Blatter also believes that the England's top flight has an unhealthy imbalance of power, with only a handful of clubs contesting the title.

"In a competition where two-thirds or three-quarters of the participants in the league play not to be first, but not to be relegated, there is something wrong," he added.

Since the formation of the Premier League in 1992 there have only been four different winners, compared to six different champions over the previous 16 seasons.

Blatter is also concerned about the influx of foreign players and owners into England's top clubs that has accompanied the Premier League's runaway commercial success.

He said he would attempt to convince Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore to impose a minimum requirement for home-grown talent on the pitch and warned that domestic owners might provide better stewardship through the economic downturn.

I recall that.. I think Johanson was too "nice" and put up with too much crap from Blatter.

both platini and blatter seem to hold some bitter resentment towards the EPL, for years it was the spanish and the italian dominating the transfer market, and bogarting the most expensive players, who can remember the galacticos era of real madrid, hell they bought any player for any price, yet no one complained....now its time for the EPL, the fastest and most competitive trophy in the world, look at their games and you will see why, united struggled against a 13th place newcastle last week, liverpool lost 2-0 to 2nd from last borro.....yes its 4 teams usually dominating, but look at this years results, villa are 3rd, 3 points ahead of arsenal, they can spend all they want, but money will not buy you a world class team

The Spanish & Italian Leagues dominated in the 1980’s & 1990’s but UEFA/FIFA was not concerned.

The Spanish & Italian leagues spent ridiculous money & had many South American/African players playing in their leagues, but UEFA/ FIFA were not concerned.

A handful of clubs dominated the Italian/Spanish leagues but UEFA/FIFA was not concerned.

So why is UEFA/FIFA concerned now, because it is the ENGLISH!

Blatter is bad enough but Platanni seems to hate the English with a passion. He has also revealed that he wants to give the Champions League Trophy to Juventus this year.

The Premier League should be a role model for Seria A & La Liga. With the Spanish & Italian leagues being dominated by racism & bribes, maybe UEFA/FIFA should concentrate on solving those issues first before condemning a hugely successful league.

ban the live broadcast of those matches, ban the teams from travelling outside Europe, stop the local press screening the match reports. Then everyone will be happy.

Well, not wanting to look like a moron, i do understand his position, i do belive that he means that premier league can't monopolize the world football market. For a premier league fan it's the other federations fault, that their championships are less competitive, who cares that in the premier league there's more money than any other european championship? Can someone please tell me what has the english national team been winning in the last years? With such a good championship full of english players, they must have won lots of competitions.

Shouldn't FIFA worry with the weaker championships ?

In Portugal, we had 4 champions in the last 17 years too

Blatter is indeed a moron for saying that. It's akin to the ostrich burying its head in sand and hoping nobody'd see it. Seriously, that's a very narrow minded view which he has there.

I dont think it's ever gonna work. The english game didnt reach where it is today overnight. It took a lot of passion (from players, teams and the audience) to reach it's levels.

Instead of crying about it, they should be concentrating on what they did right and try to do it right themselves. It may not be instantaneous, but then nothing is.

Seriously, i don't even feel like reacting further to this stupidity. And he's supposed to head the beautiful game. What a beautiful thought, not!

Ah, Qatar Sports Club has won it once (in 2003-04). But otherwise, no other clubs without an 'Al' in it's name has won the event since it's introduction in 1973. Umm Salal was newly promoted two seasons a go and they aren't going for the title, looking at their current form. Neither are Qatar SC. So i stand by what i said, about the power of Al.

The premier league is the most competitive in the world.

In Spain, its usually Barca or Madrid that win the league year in year out.

In Holland its usually Ajax, Feyenord or sometimes PSV.

In Italy , Its the Milans or Juve..

Such is the reality of football.
