Shk Asma Al Thani the first Qatari to go to the North Pole!
So Why does Shk Asma Al Thani want to go to the North Pole?
A: I strongly believe that anything is possible if you set your mind to it, and I hope this expedition will inspire people from around the world to achieve their dreams. We should never stop challenging ourselves.
I’m excited for this chance to take on a new challenge and in the process, contribute to causes I believe in furthermore, the Arctic is an environment that needs protection from a global community.
In the wake of the Paris Agreement, Euro-Arabian cooperation has never been more vital to climate issues.
The world faces global problems that can only be solved by global cooperation.
In April 2017, a unique team of women from across Europe and the Arabian Peninsula will ski together to the top of the world.
Backbreaking effort and desperate cold await the expedition on their 100km journey across the shifting pack ice of the Arctic Ocean to 90°North, the North Geographic Pole.
By overcoming this adversity as a team, the expedition aims to demonstrate the importance of greater intercultural understanding and exchange, while at the same time highlighting the capability of women.
The women will return to their home countries as role models to inspire others to reach beyond the expectation of others and be true global citizens.
