Stammering/Stuttering - Speaking Circle
Good Day All,
I have been stammering/stuttering since i was little kid.
Stammering/Stuttering is (for those who have never came across this word before) is speaking with difficulty on a certain word or in certain stress situations.
There is no cure for stammer however there are teachniques and way on how to control it and how to improve on your speech fluency.
I have just returned from one of the best training course to work on my speech and i would love to share expereince and knoweldge of the outcome of this course with people who stammer or those who know anyone who stammer.
I would like to set up a speaking circles for those people who stammer to help each other to work on our stammer, control it and how to improve our fluency.
If you are interested to join please drop me an emai:
Looking forward to hear from you !!! Be brave and be open about your stammer and lets talk !!!
Best Regards ...
How do you become a member of Toastmasters?
Hey Qatarbike,
I find this very interesting, and as many people dont like to talk about this I hope you dont mind me asking you questions.
Is the stammer triggered by stress or when you are in a situation that makes you nervous? Are you able to recognize the triggers and words which make you stammer? _____________________________________________________

Hello All :),
I dont stammer too when i sing :) ... Very interesting but thing but what amazed me is understanding the reason behind this following the course i attended. Although very simple but important to keep your influency and speech in order :) . Its the focal vold which opens when you speak but on certain sounds or situation what happens is that the vocal fold shuts and thats what cause the stammer or the block or certain workds or sound :) ..
I used to hate to talk about my stammer with people but now i am more open about it which help to desinsitize which is one of the techniques to work on it :).
Hariibon, thanks for your note :) .. Toastmaster is a great program and i am already a member but still it dosnt provide the techniques on how to improve your fluency if you stammer but its more of improving your presentation and speech skills for those without fluency difficulty...
Appreciated the suggestion ;) ..
Yes, I have a friend with a slight stammer in everyday speech. He was a professional opera singer, so no problems there!

That is very strange.A miracle. Imagine trying to sing everything instead of talking, almost like a musical theatre! though not possible in the real world......Just a thought!
The only way my friend doesnt stutter is when she sings (quite beautifully at that).
Qatarbike, can you shed any light into why this may be?

Right, Amoud, Like that lean theatre actor in "Shakespeare in love"..... He stammers more when he is under pressure to deliver a speech!
Agree with Alexa 100%. I have a friend with this issue back home, and the more they were teased the worse the stutter became and as Qatarbike said, this can be a circle in more ways than one.
