Student Suspended for having pre marital sex
An interesting story..
Now please don't turn this into a religious debate.. My point is that in this day and age, can a university seriously expect its students to live by such a code or is it a case of "don't ask, don't tell".

Brandon Davies was suspended by Brigham Young University for admitting to having sex with his girlfriend..
He is supposed to have violated the school honour code which includes amongst other things, forbids students from engaging in premarital sex, and admonishes them to “live a chaste and virtuous life.”
His case will be reviewed by the Honor Code Office.
Two of Davies’ basketball teammates said - “Everyone makes mistakes in their life. We are reaching out and trying to help him get through this.”
“He told us everything. He told us he was sorry and that he let us down. We just held our heads high and told him it was OK, that it is life, and you make mistakes, and you just got to play through it,” Fredette said.

Actually LP the official Mormon church does not practice polygamy and it is strictly banned. However some small offshoots and communities do believe in polygamy as a way of reaching heaven, and there is no limit on the amount of wives they can take. However these ggroups are highly frowned upon by the Church af Latter Day Saints and are even persecuted by law.n
That's interesting, pilgram. As far as I know Mormones can have four wives. Is that because they are not allowed to test-drive them before marriage?
It's a Mormon university that follows Mormon rules. If he didn't want to be suspended he shouldn't have gone there and shouldn't have confessed.
In modern society this may sound as a harsh measure but if that's the code of conduct then you should abide... it's just like gay in the US military... don't ask, don't tell!
LP, some people are interested to smoke in places where smoking is banned. What to do?
In some places smoking is banned. If you want to smoke, don't go there, go somewhere else, where it is not banned.
Nah Frenchieman, he just wanted to brag that he got his end away
baldrick--The story at the time was that he felt guilty and free confessed.
i'll ban BYU in my universty lists.:)
hevean forefend - string him up I say. What is the world coming to!
How did they find out? Or was he sha99ing her over the desk in class?
Old news from March. This move cost BYU a shot at the national championship, but his teammates and the fans did not resent him for it. He did the crime and accepted the punishment like a man. In the days when college athletics in the US are a multi-billion dollar business and cheating is common, I say good for BYU for taking a stand and giving more than lip service to the code of conduct its students agree to when they enter the university.
This is a private, religious school. All students sign a pledge AGREEING to the honor code. Over 36,000 students attend this school and it has a great reputation. Some people and institutions still have morals in this day and age. Hard to believe, but true.
Every house has 'house rules'. He should go to another university!
He was the unlucky one !
Nothing surprises me though ? :(
