Sushil Kumar got India its fourth wrestling medal in the Olympics on Sunday, the third in the past four years, with the first one coming way back in the 1952 Helsinki Games when Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav won bronze.

Sushil said after winning the silver that the two wrestling medals here would give a huge fillip to the sport. "I failed to win gold but managed to win silver. It is very disappointing but I will settle for that. Yogi got it yesterday. This is huge for Indian wrestling. The sport is going to gain in popularity. It will draw in more fans, more support."

Shame is the inevitable result of self-awareness, introspection, and self-appraisal.

Five Medal for a country of 1.3 Billion people is a shame! Specially when neighbouring China is second from top on the medals tally!

How is it that a country boasting of being the next superpower and with a slogan - India Shining; cannot muster a bunch of atheletes to represent itself in the Worlds most prestigeous event?
