On 23rd December 2011, I have fly to india for x-mas and new year vacation, when leave to airport, I went a short shopping in LULU HYBERMARKET in D-ring road. I park my car in newly constructed parking area and closed the door by remote control . Unfortunately the door was not closed properly. after 3o minutes I came from shop found that my cabin Bag was stolen. I loss my passport (No. E 6520402) and ticket also. In this back have 4 set of dresses and passport and ticket only (No money). when I told to my friends , they pointed that the car cleaning boys only can do, because they have rights to touch or clean any car inthis parking area. Now I loss my passport. Even I complained to Capital Police there is no benefit, because no fingure prints available.
So Dear friends be careful, when park your car in such a crowded area.

Sorry to hear you effects were taken.., personal security is important anywhere you live, but even more when you live abroad. People need to make it a habit to secure their effects even if you "just going in for a minute" I've learned this the hard way myself, now I secure everything all the time. I even use a VPN service to log into the internet so I can secure my personal data... Good Luck, be safe and secure!

Thanks for the warning...

Thanks to OP for the warning which I guess is the reason for the post but in reality the OP has no one to blame but herself. Actions were plain careless. You wouldnt be delinquent in personal security in your home country so why are you making it easy for thieves in Qatar??

Oh, sorry to hear this, but its a good lesson for all of us who are staying in qatar...and its really true that we are responsible for all our belongings even if they are left in the car !!!

It is happening here in an alarming manner. However as posted by MS it could happen anywhere so be careful while leaving valuables in the car which can be noticed from outside. It doesn't matter if the car is locked or not as they will cut the side or rear glasses to get the things.

Lol Rizks, he was on his way to the Airport to fly.

Petty theft is definitely on the rise--from cars, outside houses, and pick-pocketing in malls. I wonder if Qatar has been identified as a soft target for such things, which has led to arrival of people organizing such crimes, or if it's people already here just taking advantage of easy opportunities for crime. Either way, I hope it gets better soon.

How can you be so stupid to leave your passport in your car ? Why do you leave a bag visible in your car ? Sorry, you are the one to blame.

Don't point at the cleaners since you have no prove. It could be anybody, right ?

soosaimariyan, I am really sorry to hear this but please remember that generally, even in the safest places these things do happen. You should never leave anything that can be easily spotted inside the cabin, even if your doors are fully locked. This way you won't make their (burglar's) life easier.

Hang her friend.

It were her 'friends' who 'pointed' at the car-clean-boy!

I don't see how you can point fingers at the car cleaning boys. Anybody could have walked by and seen that your car was left open.
