Theres somthing I'm not understanding on QL?

One of the great things in Qatar is the mix of races and culture ,An assuption I made when finding this forum was it seemed a fantastic place to chat to some this mix.

But one of the things I have found odd when scanning throught the groups is most seem to be a group set up to meet people from the country you came from in the first place.

Maybe I'm missing somthing and As I'm in the minority here I know that I must be odd for thinking it lol. But does anyone else find this an odd side of human nature?

That is all :)

There are real life crazys, that's why the group managers screen newbies. Some newbies (and old trolls) complain but it's for the protection of members. We had trouble before. Screening is similar for most of the groups here. There many cross border mixes and we learn a lot from each other. It's fun!

CM being around people of the same background gives a sense of security to some people and I do agree that everyone here has a preconceived notion about other nationalities and this town is full of racists.

By labelling someone Attention seeker in every comment through the day, deepb are you trying to seek attention ;)

RULES (PLEASE NOTE)

Acceptance into the Social Group will be determined by the time period you have been a member of QL, and the number of points you have accumulated. Please don't expect approval if you have been a member for longer than two weeks, but have less than 200 points(in 2 weeks) plus with that i will check your performance on the main forum too.

Points = posts, and posts = insight into your character. Your input on the General forum determines your status within the group.

Most of the people are narrow-minded and have set pre-conceived notions in their head about how a person from a certain nationality behaves. And oddly enough, you'll find a very high concentration of racists in this region. They are not racist by limited exposure; they are racist by choice.

When people are living far from home they like to find things and talk to people that make them feel comfortable.

Excellent observation CM but that is a sad truth here. Every nationality wants to stick around their own folks. But offcourse there are lot forums where inter cultural interactions happen on a daily basis. Please feel free to scan and join any one of them.
