Ah, yet another building collapse in India. If it isn't a major train crash, or bus driving off a cliff, it's a building collapse. What a great country. And the funny thing is, they have the atomic bomb! Yikes!

>>>Correspondents say building collapses are not uncommon in India...

supeesh ...you have raised a very valid point...

The case in point is the Al Emadi complex opposite the Holiday Villa.... its built exactly as you have mentioned... I have seen it being built everyday...as I pass by...

I guess a strong earthquake could bring the whole structure down....

have you seen ready made building in qatar???

they just make the concrete pillers.

join the structure using ready made concrete blocks. and the building is ready with in 10 or 15 days....

they bring all the concrete blocks ready made. and join it in site.

but unlike steel structure, we cannot join two concrete blocks....

in normal concrete at site, there will be a well designed steel which is joined together before concrete.

so that there will be a strong steel structure connected to each other inside the concrete. it gives strength to the concrete.

but this does not happens in joining ready made concrete at the site...

i still doubt its strength and stability...

and dont blame indians if that building collapse..

control measures and inspections are not taken. And yes, it could happen in Qatar, too, and in fact I worry about that since the attitude here is to put it up cheaply and fast. That said, it is not related to the labourers being Indian and bringing up nukes shows the OP is just spoiling for a fight. IGNORE.

Shoddy workmanship, floods weakening the foundations and poverty are contributing factors.

Spare a thought for the 65+ that have died. May they rest in peace.

and i suppose you will consider it still more funny that none of this atomic bombs are going off or any nuclear incidents or accidents happening out there like they do so regularly and frequently in the so called developed countries

@ computerserve,i don't think so mate, although if the building collapse were in a neighbouring country, highly likely they would blame Indian intelligence agencies for it!LOL! :)...

@ jdylan, now what exactly is your "concern" here? 'cos that bit isn't clear...or is this just a case of sour grapes?!...i mean, how can these "bloody Indians" have an "atomic bomb" while Canada doesn't eh?! *wink*!!!...& yes,ask WK pointed out,put that hard hat on now!,one in seven people on the planet is an Indian,if my info. is correct AND we build shoddy buildings...either way, sooner or later,we're going to f&^k you mate!!!
