atleast i saved more money this month coz i cudn't enter any bars this month..

the hotels shoot themself in the foot, i wonder how many people changing their mind spending the night the money in those bars because they forgot to bring their ID.

used my DL at Ritz and it worked without being asked for the original ID.

Very good Thread, It gives an Idea what to expect when going for a drink at the Bars.

Please share your experience of entry into bars/clubs after this new rule being enforced strictly.

A friend of mine was denied entry to the laughter factory because he did not have an ID, now he is chasing them for a refund.

Comeon guys it is the LAW of the Land to carry your ID with you at all time so what the big fuss of not getting in?

Even if you have a dinner reservation and/or staying at the Hotel or the Residents' Suite, they will still ask for the ID.

UK, Irish on Thursday was easy enough..they only ask to SHOW the ID, they even ddn't register them..

..Brother of my hub was admitted to Admirals without any ID. I just confirmed that he does have a passport (forgotten in the hotel) and that he is over 21, and my hub remembered his passport No. by the chance. It was enough..

OK the latest visits to the bars in Town and the ID issue. Started off at the Golf Club, As I play golf I was let in via the back door but front door ID was been checked.

Next Stop was the Admiral, I did not have my ID but as advised in this Thread I showed by DL and got in.

Final stop of Thursday night Friday Morning was the Paloma at the Intercon.. That turned out to be the most difficult one. Tried with the DL they refused entry. Then a cunning plan came to mind, for some reason I always have a copy of my passort/RP in the car, So i returned back and explained to the door attendent about the ID and original passport in Immigration. After which I was allowed in.

So simple rule No ID no entry or sign up to the membership of these clubs, again for that you need an ID.

No they will ask for her ID. they are compelled they wont let any one in without getting their info registered.

Qatari boys do go as i said alot of them goes mostly to Sheraton and Paloma but now that the ID cards you will be forced to show them so i think you better show your DL and pretend your ID is in Immigration.

Bars are not meant just for drinks

it also can be a venue for meetings sitting in a corner with bunch of friends. no not watchin movie or any belly dancers around. the do serve fresh drinks Juices i mean.

yea even Qataris they also go i only know of the boys because i have alot of friends who spend time in Admiral or Irish mostly. Now they are scared of going but the one who doesnt care they still go.

Do they allow muslims to be entertained at BARS or restricted for Qataris only or Open for ALL? ID just a procedure to get in?

You also can join Social group and have fun around with the QLers.

This topic is just to let you know all that going to Bars without your ID is waste of time and you will never be allowed to enter any of them.

Smokey by law your are required to carry your ID with you at all times, not only when going to the clubs.

Secondly, I, as a good and Law abiding resident of Qatar I always carry my ID and DL with me even when I am taking a taxi. Now if you drink and drive then yes you are setting a wrong example to the youngs..lol

New to Qatar so RP not processed yet, passport given to pro to get RP, net resultant, no ID, no entry :-( Will b stuck at home whole weekend...

i tried my Driving license in Habanos and Ramada not W

yea we knew about the Club membership.

the only i came to know of was Qube in Ramada.

but now that i was checking all of them this week none of them asked me for membership just ID card. At every entery there is Hotel official standing with a register to note down your ID info before letting you in.

PLUS KEEP IN MIND THE CIED THEY ARE ALSO THERE SITTING AROUND WATCHING THEM NOTING DOWN YOUR INFO.
