even the wakra-messaieed hiway is packed in the mornings and everyone wants to drive more than 120kph!

a major accident is waiting to happen on this road unless they do something about it. like...making it into a 3-lane hiway on both sides? paging Asghal...

You're right Alexa. Although I think it will be a bit better when the D ring road is eventually reopened.

Nowadays many families have their children in different schools in different areas and a lot of families need 1 or 2 cars to get their kids to school and then you have people going to work so it makes a lot of congestion.Mamoura was a nightmare this morning-there are so many schools in the area and the D ring road is still closed putting pressure on Maamoura junction.

It used to be that there was certain times of day that the roads were quiet and it was pleaant to drive but now the roads are busy all the time.

May your dreams take you travelling all through your life.

will this government ever try to intervene?? I thought they were making all the round-abouts signal lights? crazy drivers. bad thing is, even the good drivers feel the need to go a bit nuts, just to keep up!! Not very good PR for this country!

Yes, lots of countries around the world are as bad, or worse, but they are usually MUCH bigger cities- Doha is still a small burg, comparatively!! They really shouldn't be this bad!! Maybe if traffic cops actually stopped the idiot drivers, and gave tickets to ALL of them (and not let the Qataris off!) it would help

and whats with people making their own right of ways at roundabouts.

For the last few mornings, i have noticed that cars coming from the Ramada signals to the small R/A before Jaidah bridge, have decided they have exclusive right of passage. They hold up the cars yeilding left by not allowing any space between the cars, and they keep on moving while the cars are backing up on the left like the traffic officials do at big R/A's.

These renovations started at the beginning of last week and has already caused endless traffice jams as people don't know how to use a roundabout anyway.

I have to admit the Merry Mental Men are all back on the streets - the Salwa Road had yesterday at 11.15 near decoration roundabout towards Ramada 10 accidents including my own someone trying to force me of the street by not looking in the mirror and, as said above plenty of road rage brewing.
