A glimpse of traffic block on B ring road this morning.

Schools are reopening next week and the worst is yet to come!

Thanks for improving all the roads simultaneously.

i've been here the best part of my life..qatar was a sleepy backwater town..you could go from end to end in half an hour and encounter maybe a 100 cars on the way..the roads were built with that pace of life in mind..no one knew about the gas sitting underneath and how everyone and their dog would come rushing to cash in on the boom..give the authorities time and they will deliver; they have no choice

more especially near Qatar Sports Club round about, and Abuhamour and put some under grounds, things can be solved but it needs proper planning, like make a lane for the cars which have four to five passengers.

License issue is one of the problem but only restricting that will not solve the problem.By the time our beloved Ashgal finishes one expansion, 1000 plus cars increase for that particular road.

this is nothing more then a disaster. Sorry if I offend any one but I don't think that the lakhwiya guys can handle this.

just by blocking the way from one side does not mean that its smooth.

I think Government should come up with some idea about it

well they at least get on with it and finish fast..the pace of work here is frenetic..head somewhere after a month's gap and chances are something's gone or come up lol..didn't pass through Sana roundabout for two weeks..cue complete disorientation when I suddenly see an intersection ahead and no traffic:-)

Do they not work overnight because the supervisors can't be bothered doing a night shift? I doubt they would hesitate getting the Asian laborers to work from 10pm to 6am, but the more senior people prefer to just work from 9am to 1pm.

I always wonder why they dig up the entire stretch in one go like Corniche these days. If done in phases it wont be as bigger a problem. And seems it is good to work only in the night when the traffic is less like in big cities back home and clear up the roads in the morn for the traffic.

Yep, going to be a lot worse next week. However a plan is afoot to allow Qataris only to drive on Sundays to Thursdays and expats on Friday and Saturday.

Good one, Brit!

The unsurprising consequence of focusing all your attention on roads in the desert and not upgrading the metropolitan roads for many years.

Thankfully there is a lovely 8 lane road at the back of Ain Khaled now.

The problem lies with issuing too many licenses. I think the government should restrict who they issue licenses to :O)
