Traffic Violation inside your house
First time in my life I have experienced traffic violation notice when parking my car within my compound!!!!!!!!
Wondering what it's all about ? Well I just happened to return home early one morning after attending night shift and find my alloted parking space occupied by someone else's car. I had no other option than to park the car in the centre of the driveway, taking care it does not obstruct the way of other users. This is a common practice in my compound and at least 20/30 cars are parked in the centre regularly, and there is hardly any problem.
In the evening, I come out of my flat in a happy mood, merrily singing to myself, and then I find this PARKING STICKER on the window!!!!
What frustrates me is that no other car parked in the same fashion had a sticker!!!May be the police did not like my car??Or maybe someone lodged a complaint?? But coming back to my question, can somebody tell me whether the police can book you for "traffic violation" within a private residential compound? I wonder whether the interior roads in a compound come under traffic jurisdiction.
In the Qatar traffic court system? Do you have the right to appeal an Unjustified traffic ticket?
Reason is: That I witness some of those new cameras by Airport road going crazy flashing at cars continuously, who had their green light in front of them.
The second bad part about it, the flash and camera was still flashing even, If the light was red and still flashing at everyone. Is like they lost their Synchronization with the lights.
What would you recommend?

Thanks QLers for empathizing with me. I feel a good more relaxed now after sharing my bad experience with you. Believe me this is the first traffic violation notice I received in my life - in 29 years. I guess here in Doha, I would have to learn to accept the unexpected. I have had other bad experiences with living in Doha in the last 5 months : but lets save them for later. Cheers.
Just as it is in the UK, cars on a privately owned property such as a compound or group project can also be given fines. In most cases this is by someone lodging a complaint, or the compound owner himself requesting the traffic department to monitor the area. However, if I was you and saw that there were so many cars and only my one with a ticket, I'd have taken a picture and asked about it.

I hope they privatise the job of traffic warden here!
I would make a FORTUNE around Al Sadd! :)
Sorry to hear about this - seems a bit cheeky.
i would go to the traffic police to pay it and if it turns out it was your neighbor who put it there, i am sure the traffic police would consider it to be quite a serious offence.
are you sure the police is not your neighbour who have upset to you because of some reason?
