Tupac and the Vatican
I would LOVE to hear Tupac's music blasting from the Popemobile the next time the Holy See travels!

QL needs a Pope for the masses.
“terrorists rely on an endless supply of people living in extreme poverty, with no other options in life. The only chance we have to see the end of terrorism, is to end extreme poverty.”

Khawaga,
Still till recently blacks feel discriminated against in the US.
On a global level now, the brutality i am talking about is two fold:
Physical: represented as wars and conflicts: Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Iran, Greece to name a few.
Economic: 1 billion ppl have no food!
regardless of who is guilty, this needs to stop which means change.
CBD: Racism they faced back when? And what is the bit about brutality that you mentioned?
CBD: I would agree that art should be appreciated. However, I believe when you include the "music" of Tupac, you stretch the definition of the word "art" until it has no meaning.
britexpat: Yes, I caught that line. I believe this song was written before the inauguration when a minority of black America believed that Obama would be assassinated before Election Day, or before Inauguration Day as some sort of white conspiracy to keep a black man out of the White House.
no i did not notice that statement.
But i know it was about black Americans' case and racism they faced back then. However, to me, it is analogous to brutality (whther physical or economic) on all nations we see today.
Sorry , but the song to me is just trying to make excuses ..
By the way, did you notice the line "We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh"
why not, specifically this song, if it talks about change which is the very thing we need today across the globe- right, left & centre. Proper change though!
OK.. I can understand The Vatican trying to "appeal" to a diverse society, but saying that Tupac shares " the aim to reach the heart of good minded people" is a bit over the top...
it is good to see art well appreciated.
