villa theft
Has anyone experienced any theft from their home? Last night someone took my laptop, my house mates camera and bizarrely enough a bottle of rum! This is the second time we've had someone take stuff, security on our compound is fairly tight but i suspect maybe was someone who works on the compound maybe a maintenance guy.....
Some people are SO cheap...

Leave some bottles of spirits and add some pepto bismol in them, once this happens again don't call the police, give it like 6 hours and then go to hamad hospital to see if anyone has reported any gastrointestinal problems.
The OP is fantasizing. Such things DON'T happen in Qatar! Maybe he forgot where he put the stuff.
May I ask which compund in Al Waab? This is first time I have seen anyone reporting theft in compound villa.
You should report to police.
Besides, I hope you did not sleep with your doors open? Any idea how the thief came in? any lock broken?
One expensive but innocent suggestion rather than dog if you are planning to stay long install CCTV camera & it seems that it is matter of child theft...........I see many time, children under 15
selling stuffs.
was in al waab.
which compound or area was it?
Get a dog.! You will have no problems then with people coming into your villa or garden.
As well as a great companion, they are a great deterent !
You might just let go the pinch to avoid the hassle of calling the police. However IMO, in addition to the possibility of getting your stuffs back, reporting the incident to police should prevent such incidents from happening in the future, at least, in the same compound for others benefit. It will also send a caution signal to the residents and could help the culprit being singled out.
People bearing with such occurrences is the main reason why these incidents are on the rise in Qatar lately, I thought.
I just came back from holiday, defo happened last nite as we'd left some money for the cleaner before going to bed and by the morning it had gone along with the other stuff
It happens here frequently but rarely reported in the media.
But where were you then ?
