Visa from Qatar for a Pinay employee

Hello everyone! I am from the Philippines and would soon be working in Doha. I would like to know, especially from the experiences of my fellow kabayans, how long it would take to process the visa in Qatar. The agency here in the Philippines always tells me "it won't take long" but I am waiting for 4 weeks now and getting impatient and worried big time.

Thanks a lot.

May palakasan system din dito. If your employer has the power and the right connections. There should not be a problem:-)

I know someone who knows someone whom was hired by a government organization to work in administration dept. after all the procedures etc. etc. that took months she was told that the labour dept. refused her visa since the possession offerred to her was given to a local. She was devastated as she already resigned from her current employer.

Qatarization eh.

sometimes it does take longer, specially if its a government.

and one more thing just recently it was on the news that they wanted those non-skilled workers in the government should be taken up by locals, now if your position falls on that category, maybe, just maybe they are still trying to justify the reason to hire you.

Thats very good. keep the faith. Ang hirap na ng survival ngayun sa Doha, mahal lahat para kang nakatira sa europe. Baka nga mas mura pa sa Europe.

Thanks everybody for the replies.

Direct hire po ako as I applied online, at goverment po yung papasukan ko. I believe that they'll get a work visa for me. They have a contact agency here in Manila kung saan dun po ako nakikipag-coordinate.

I'm worried because I heard that visa processing in Qatar takes so loooooooonngg to process, and I'm sittin' my ass here in Mla just waiting .

WMHIZON, I am not a fan of pork, or red meat, so it's ok lang kung walang pork dyan, actually I prefer chicken and seafood.

By the way, this is not my first time in the M.E., sa Dubai po ako since 1996, this will be my first time in Doha though.

LAMBORJEEPNEY, comparing Doha to Dubai already makes me sick but I still want to give it a try.

but if u have doubt sa agency mo u should be worried talaga lalo na if they already asked you for some payments & u already paid them.

before they processed my visa in 2 mos... maybe its also depends on the company na magProprocess ng visa mo (Uso din kasi dito ang palakasan system) & how urgent they need u to be here.

Just few weeks ago, my cousin's employer issued her working visa and it tooked her employer to process it for 2 weeks.

Her employer even brought  her contract to Philippine embassy for stamped so no need for her to passed by an agency, in which it saves  both parties. In this case, all you need to do is to process directly to POEA.

If they issued business visa it should be released earlier.
