Was this illegal?
good day QLers
during my vacation .. i went to Italy & Switzerland .. and before going there .. i went to the Italian Embassy in Bahrain and asked them for a visa ... and i've clearly stated to the lady there that i want to go to both countries .. she asked for few papers including the mean of transportation from Rome to Geneva, and the hotel reservation in both places that i could arrange and a form t be filled for the Schengen Visa have all that done and visa was ready within 24 hours ..
took my plane from Rome to Geneva, i noticed that there were no passports control or checking counter in Geneva .. i collected my bags and left the airport .. stayed there 5 days and left back home ..
i told a friend of mine the story and he said that i was illegaly staying in Geneva since the Schengen Visa doesn't give an access to Switzerland and that was i caught at that time i could've been banned from entering Europ
fellow QLers .. how true is that? did i really stay illegaly in Switzerland? are there any consequnces for that?

thanx for the information
No
holding Schengen Visa you still can visit switzerland without any hassles.
Switzerland is part of the Schengen so no you were fine...I just applied for a visa for my son and called the Swiss consulate here who told me that a schengen visa would be sufficient as they were now part of the Schengan lot !!
