Manila: Philippine forces intensified security at Manila's United States Embassy as militant groups prepared rallies to protest the presence of a US warship

Meanwhile, the 42-year-old Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) in a statement said that the US carrier's visit which began on Sunday was "a shameless display of master-puppet relationship [between the United States and the Philippines]".

"It would appear that [President Benigno] Aquino was summoned by the US government, which had him flown to the US carrier, bypassing standard diplomatic procedures [during his tour of the USS Carl Vinson last Sunday]," the CPP added.

The group also warned Filipino women to be careful during the visit by US servicemen during their rest and recreation visit in Manila.

It's a hierarchy within the nations. No government should love another nation. The government should look after its people's interest, and I am sure that is what is happening here.

Does that mean the americans have to drag the local president to come and visit their ship. It all looks like a love for the american dollars and aid rather then anything else and certainly not any mutual love between the two

Guys they are listed as a terrorist organization by the US and EU. Of course they are going to complain about a US visit. It is about as shocking as Israel announcing they are going to build yet more houses.

There is always an element in the former colonies that is sensitive to such things. It is a splinter of a group that is issuing these complaints--hardly the mainstream.

The US has always had strong ties with The Philipines. The old bases may have closeed but the US has been training and arming Filipino soldiers for years.

As for the "Rest & Recreation". I'm sure it will bring lost of revenue for the local economy :o)

Interesting Warning from a Local Group, showing US soldiers are morally weak.
