What is going on?

It is a very interesting Question as i think, and a lot of us needs an answer, Guess what, You will never had an answer.

Qatarliving,,, when i arrived here (Almost 4 months ago), I was looking for an accommodation and by chance/mistake i found www.Qatarliving.com,,, it was really helpful, i found an apartment in 2 days !!

So after that, it became my reference website to Qatar, then i dived much deeper to find the Forums, i saw what i thought "discussion", i liked it, people from everywhere talking about things/news/activities, which is interesting, as i really like the diversity, which is not available back there in Jordan.

The Question is, are we really discussing things, or every one of us believes that he/she is the right one?
Are we looking for knowledge, or we just want to share our own point of view( wither it is right or wrong)?
Do we read/listen/analyze or the words are passing form an ear to another?

I think part of that is normal, I can't agree with all of you, but no need to call you a "Freak", i just want to have a place here, a relaxing place, i really want to learn more, i don't wanna know how racist you are, i wanna know how open minded are you, can you convene me in a civilized way.

Some believe there is one God, others believe in three and somebody don't believe that there is a God, are we here to Judge each other?,, No
I like lemon you like orange and he likes watermelon, who gives a sh!t?
I am from Asia you from Europe he is from North America, we are all human, aren't we?
Why not to let it go and just have good place to discuss issues, tell me why you think am wrong, but no need to tell me that i am "Stupid" Just because we have a different way of thinking.

Finally,,, Before you talk look in the mirror, and treat the others like you want to be treated.

Now you can say that i am moaning or you can say that i am the drama man, i will handle it,, It just prove what i said before,,,, we are different,,, but isn't that nice and interesting ?

Have a good day

Woww :) thatz nice..

No nommy it is not hijack.. I talked about grapes with a purpose. Grapes are our similarities and bacons are differences. When you talk about bacon I just keep quite but accept you eating it and enjoy watching you having nice time.

When we talk about grapes I just join you as we never had a difference.

In Human Beings there are more similarities than differences so why not we all ignore them what we dont like and be happy with the similarities we have. :)

This was the point. :)

Mr.Suleiman..

Those kind of people who replies WHY DO GOD NEED A MONEY? to the simple question like WHERE IS THE LOCATION? makes you put your thoughts into the paper,i understand that..

They are ignorant,selfish and ego-minded..

it spoils the freedom of speech and forum society..

I guess the whole point behind this thread is learn when to Agree to Disagree, which in it self a very rare quality in this day and time.

however, problems start when users start to wanna control the other person and get them to take sides in order to feel secure about themselves.

moral of the thread: people may disagree on some decisions AND they are okay with letting the argument go.

A few years back, if I would hear of humanitarian crisis like in Iraq or Syria, my heart would go out to the people who were suffering, but after meeting certain people around here, my outlook towards certain species of human being has become little less forgiving.....

Arguing with somebody who is convinced of his being right is useless waste of energy.

Simply accept the person as is. It does not mean you have to believe him/her.

By an Islamic scholar of years ago "Any evil doer can think he is a good person, the ignorant can think himself a scholar, the greedy thinks of himself as generous, the stupid thinks he is intelligent. Life is short and hopes are unlimited, yet many are two dazzled with themselves to see a clear picture for advancement"

Pretty much sums up the reasons for a much disputes and feuds we encounter and even find ourselves entwined in both on and off QL.

QL much like rest of the world, is made up of all sorts, the good the bad and the beyond! We just need to arm ourselves with much patience and tolerance, and know that our judgement of others may well be wrong based as it is on our own fallibility.

.sun ,,, If we expected to hear "Yes, You are right" whenever we say something we will be completely disappointed.

If everybody talks in the things that he know and understand, we will be all safe, and the world will be better.

It needs one crazy human to throw a stone in the well, and a million sane to take it out. :)

By Sulieman• 15 Jun 2013 16:22

Yup ,,, You have to show your evidences and proves and the other side should do the same and again in a polite way.

You talk i listen ,, i talk you listen ,, this is the right way to have a result.

No Shouting no cursing not personal bullsh!ts

We might not agree but that doesn't make us enemies.

That's all

Dear brother Sullieman, the politics of this whole world runs on the basis of putting people down and projecting one's own self (and likes of one's own self) as the best & most deserving of the world's resources. A few honest people like you & me crying for equality, justice and brotherhood are counted as fools. There are some idiots here ( and for that matter anywhere in the world) who believe that we are crying foul because we are at the disadvantaged end of this system. So kick their a*ses, and let them live the life of dogs (what they actually are) You can't talk sense into them.

By landloverreview• 15 Jun 2013 16:18

Yes for the question where is the Quran Centre "Do God Need Money" is not the challenge.

By Rip Cord• 15 Jun 2013 16:15
Rip Cord

Suli lets take one example. Some people of faith denies that evolution exists and that god created the world. (In 6 days according to some). When that is posted on an open forum it needs to be challenged.

By Sulieman• 15 Jun 2013 16:11
Sulieman

"when they start putting their beliefs on a public forum then they should expect to be challenged"

Yes,, but why the word "challenged" isn't it a bit "gross".

I've never said that things can't be discussed, but there is a difference between someone asking to know and the other who is talking to talk and argue, like saying am right and you are all idiots and wrong. Right?

Respect from the both sides will let you have the most interesting discussion ever !

So, i agree with you, you come up with thing,, follow the risks

By landloverreview• 15 Jun 2013 16:09

By Rip Cord• 15 Jun 2013 16:01

Suli I agree we should accept others, and if people want to believe in the bible or the Koran then that is their business, but when they start putting their beliefs on a public forum then they should expect to be challenged. I don't run into a mosque shouting you are all wrong because it is their business but I have to challenge the falsehoods they put on QL.

By Sulieman• 15 Jun 2013 15:56
Sulieman

Rip,, We have to accept everybody first, then start yelling for freedoms and call overselves Liberal,, or larg-minded or whatever.

For example ,,, If i am non Muslim and i saw something about Qura'an ,, I should respect that,, if i don't wanna respect at least no need to humiliate it or say any offensive word about it.

The same as the bible for Christian ,, and so on

By landloverreview• 15 Jun 2013 15:54
landloverreview

Yes "explain that to other in a civilized polite way " is a limit itself.

Stupidity is not a challenge. Comparison of east west Asians with others, arabs and others...it is not racism it is freedom of speech.. There are two things which cannot be attacked in front: ignorance and narrow-mindedness. “People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.”

The forum is a delightful mix of west and east, which sometimes exposes the dark underbelly of humanity. It shows up those that want to enforce their beliefs and ideas through a legal system if necessary but they all also the first to oppose different views and opinions and try to shut them down.

Regular QLers visit this forum to kill time and feel good gossiping with their virtual acquaintances/friends. Except for the QL community rules, they aren't bound by any other guidelines. I guess it is the same as a coffee-shop in which friends would sit and chat on their favourite subjects or current issues. And we do find there sweet talks, intellectual debates, discussions, arguments or even people threatening each other.

This is one virtual coffee-shop and I wouldnt expect anything different.
