What good is a contract of employment if it has not been filed with Labour Department? Any input? Thanks a lot.

If 90% of the companies do not register the employment contract with labor department in the absence of which there can be issues against the interests of the employee(s) and which is also against the law, is it not possible to know the gap by the authorities based on the RP's issued and the contracts filed.

Registration of the employment contract helps you in case there are changes made by the employer therein or signed two contracts. The registered copy with the labor department is considered the final and authentic contract enforceable in case of dispute.

Yes, it is very important to have the contract legalized by the Labor office. I have recently suffered much due to this.

The employment contract is designed to protect 2 parties when they fail to trust each other. A mere understanding alone never lasted longer, all verbal promises done are gone with the wind. Labor dept attested EC is more valid for both to protect them selves when they're in trouble
