Hi everybody,

It occurred to me that the GCC countries are flourishing due to the presence of oil. I would like to get your views on "What would happen once the oil reserve goes dry?

Seeing the developments in UAE, I think Tourism would be a lucrative alternative and definitely manufacturing. When we go to shopping, most of us would have noticed that every single item is "imported". Why not produce the same items locally?

I guess Saudi Arabia and the Emirates have finally decided to "Think outside the box" as we could see lot of “Made in KSA" and "Made in UAE". Please throw in your comments.

Hey Super!! even i was thinking abt' changing the topic. I guess by now most of us went back in time. let's not bring the bad old memories back to life. Anyway, I want to ask u guys something:

1. Has there ever been any rock shows in Qatar. What are the prospects in the near future?

2. Is there any Bules Bar in town? Or any good bar with live music?

3. Is there any Stand Up Comedy Club?

Lets me know please....

It is always nice to know there is someone there for you and cares for you! What would life be for if you did not experience the feeling of love when when you look at them you feel a rush of emotion and when you touch you tingle what a rush!

nirvana I don't think all living things do love. I think humans and possibly some primates but nothing else.

Understanding someone, atleast 80%, w'd give way to a healthy relationship. As a matter of fact love is just a bio-chemical reaction inside us. It’s a fleeting experience. Im not being cynical or discouraging. It's just that few experiences in my life that makes me talk like this. Isn't it amazing that all living things can love one or more of its species! If not for this quality life would be horrible.

I don't think it was sympathy more empathy from female to female

I understand too but it is awfully depressing to protect yourself from hurt all the time. I say you have to be willing to get hurt otherwise you can't truly involve yourself in relationship.

I'm with you Sammie think you should believe. If it crumbles around you then so be it but at least you went for it.

By dohagirl• 29 Aug 2006 12:41

I'm not looking for sympathy Sammie.

I understand where you are coming from DG i think in the back of your mind will always be "is he telling the truth?"

Nirvana as i said in the last post also if you throroughly understood that person would you not be them where is the fun in that why would you want to know them that way people who have been together years still do not know each other inside and out and would it not be boring and pointless?

By dohagirl• 29 Aug 2006 12:37

Sorry, she sounds very similar to me at a point and I wound up getting hurt very badly. Falling in love overseas isn't as exotic and fun as you think. Half of the reason you are so in "love" is because you are overseas. It's romantic.

I am sorry that's the way i feel and it's not to the next one to the next one i have been with guys for a period of time (six months - 31/2 years) and not loved them just liked them and got on really well like my ex!

Im in line with you DH. It's a trial and error method, till you end up with the most compatible one, not the perfect one. Who knows the experiment c'd run your whole life... I personally believe that we can never understand the person we love or anyone for that matter, thoroughly.

By Super7• 29 Aug 2006 12:29

I still think it is nice to believe it though DG. If you go around being cynical and protecting yourself then you can't invest as much in it.

By dohagirl• 29 Aug 2006 12:25

And you're still in the "Honeymoon" "Puppy love" stage. Everyone is the "Love of your life" in that stage.

By dohagirl• 29 Aug 2006 12:24
dohagirl

What saying "Love of your life" that's not a true saying. If this one fails than the next guy, or the next guy, or the next guy is the "love of your life". You can have many loves in your life. It's a little naive to think there is only one.

just over but the saying is true!

Sammie are you saying you met the "love of your life" here in Qatar?

By sammie1571• 29 Aug 2006 12:09

To be honest it has only taken me one but i will still travel around just saying that sometimes your way at looking at life is not always the same as people who come from the same place thats all it is worth it

By Nirvana• 29 Aug 2006 12:01

LOL!!! You want me to go on a wild goose chase? I wonder money c'd ever fetch true love. People always love you for your wealth, fame and power. This is the "Universal Truth".

Quiet true!!! Money, Money It's So Funny!!! This reminds me

"Sufficient Money will protect you. Abundance of it must be protected by you". The greater level of wealth, the greater is the level of insecurity. Anyways, Im quiet content with my financial status, but im greedy for "true love". Can anyone tell me where I can but it?

I think that there are lots of reasons why we are here, however, money is one of the main factors, and all greedy to one extent or another...

Despite the obvious financial hardship that I would suffer I would welcome the immediate and revolutionary discovery of nuclear fusion and free energy for all. That would be interesting

With the way things are, I think that super is right.

However, I don’t see that coming anytime soon. The “oil needs decades to run dry & there are no alternatives.

it will turn back into a desert again. It will be a tourist attraction only to see the enormous ghost town there. People from the future will marvel at the excess and folly.
