What would the Qataris think?

Here are some usual jaw-droppers when it comes to how people live in the West.

Some families the man stays at home and cooks and cleans while the wife works.

People watch for which veggies go on sale.

Men CAN get abused by their wives (physically).

Some men get their eyebrows done.

Some parents make their children move-out at 18 yrs. old or else they pay rent.

Some teenagers, regardless if there parents are wealthy, work part-time at McDonalds and othe fast food joints.

Let us know if you there are any othes you have come across :o)

I did enjoy the little shopping, I was able do accomplish. I was there in official business, barely no time to meet people or enjoy anything. My stay in Kuwait, both times was a six month hike and a year later on time.

I only lived there once for three years. I quite liked it though. But then again I did have a lot of friends there and we made the most of it. Shopping was wonderful!

Alberta is waaaay more conservative so if was only at a provinicial level, there is no way that that law would be passed in there.

LOL, I love this, I am even surprising Canadians with Canadian issues.

They had past the legislature when I was in highschool...it was a pretty big deal, I am surprised you didn't know. Maybe it was at the provincial level only (thus, for certain, in Ontario), although I thought it was federal. If you have been to Toronto you will see these nasty ladies walking the sidewalks completely topless. Honestly, the first time I saw one I thought it was a man.

But, I can't say it's common, I see one a summer max. Too much, I'd say.

By Charlene• 13 Dec 2006 01:41

In Canada it is legal for women to walk around topless! Where I might ask???? I'm from Canada and it sure isn't where I grew up, nor where my home is now....So where in Canada are you speaking about???? I'm not saying that it doesn't happen just not where I am from, at least not legally speaking :)

Don,

What you wrote is a bunch of rubbish and I do take offense to most of it! Not only that but you are dead wrong on most of what you spoke about. Give me a break! No family values???? Only ppl with low self esteem believe in religion...Where do you get off speaking in general terms like that?

i had read so much about pregnancy labour and delivery.............so many options available in other places except here..............that was such a dissappointment.

all u do here is lie down until they say u r ready and then deliver as they instruct you.

anyone had a different experience.pls enlighten me........i shall pass on the hope to someone else.

ESL- No that is about $25USD per HOUR to find a house cleaner. It is a LUXURY to have someone clean your house, do dishes, and laundry.

Don- In the middle east it is also common to sexually abuse youth especially boys, as it is in Thailand as well.

In the middle east they ignore their children and allow them to run amok and be rude and insolent. Hmmm....seems about the same to me.

This thread was more humorous and fun when it was the funny things. Lets try and keep one thread on here from degenerating into a political finger pointing.

In the west some men sexually abuse their children, boys and girls.

in the west some men do drugs until they dont recodgnise their children.

in the west family values are a waste of time.

in the west religion is something that only low self esteem people beleive in so what they do when they r in trouble? go to point number 2

in the west when ur children are 18 they leave the house, and when the parents are 80 they put them in a caring house.

My point is, every civilisation has its up and down but at the end it all balances out

I always tell the truth, even when I lie

I saw this awesome , gorgeous young muslim woman, dress up in her Black Ninja dress.

What caught my attention, she had her bottom part unbutton.

She was wearing a mini skirt and high heels with a western sweater.

I could see the details off her body line.

The cloth underneath that veil told me, that she had a body to make any bald man grow hair!

That was a good sight.

I would loved to speak to her.

Too many Muslim man in that mall will ruined OUR day too fast and furious.

this one was discussed recently. In Canada we are having an issue where someone steals your identity and SELLS YOUR HOUSE. It's awful, anyways you lose your house, and the criminals take the $500,000 for selling it and so you are out of everything. (because remember there is some victim that just paid for the house).

Now, the Qatari gals I was chatting with could not understand how forgery could lead to someone losing their home, and they asked why don't they take thumb-prints when the sign the deed for the house and again when they sell it?

Apparently that's what they do here...

Man, they had a point.

Cook dinner most nights for the family. Some look after their children on the weekends to give the mother a break. Some really enjoy spending time with their children and find that the little things like changing diapers, bathing the kids and playing with them are the ties that really bind.

Some guys even clean the house, do the laundry, and mow their own lawns. That whole partnership of marriage thing. And if you're single you don't have someone as a house boy, so you must do it yourself.
