I am also late..But then again my time on QL is also Voluntary and I do have to attend to serious work after my office duties when I get home.

My salute to MODS, now I have been a loyal member of QL for almost 6 years now. Can I please request a one to one meeting with one of you guys.

Rumors has it due to relocation of some old Moderators there are some vacancy for which I wish to apply.

Please advise where to send my CV for this Voluntary job.

This discussion is not over until the mod whispers in my ear what his/her other QL id is...on that note mod needs to ban himself/herself for having more than one id on QL :P

for deleting my comment "maligayang kaarawan" (literally means Happy Birthday) which the birthday man himself understand.

Anyway, I just want to remind all readers about one thread in particular about a "Spanish-speaking" Qler who left the country and started a thread where I would say many (including outstanding Qler here themselves) calling me all bad names because I was asking them not to post or comment in SPANISH. Talking about what?

Anyway, rant over.

A thankless "voluntary" job...and yes, MODS are human (not Gods) and can be swayed by their emotions...whehehehe

Thank you for taking the time to clarify MODS. I withdraw my rant, and apologies for questioning the thankless job you do. Goodness I am doing a lot of apologising these days.

BTW I was told you guys got paid loads. I guess this is another myth dispelled.

The Moderators at time ignore the private chats in between the forums letting the users enjoy never came across any qler ranting at that point

Terrific race, the MODS. Terrific.

If nothing else, it's taught me to respect the MODS, and it's taught me... that you'll never get anywhere in this life, unless you're prepared to do a fair day's work for a fair day's pay!

Moderation is a thankless job and all the moderators on the site are doing it voluntarily. Mods have day job and life outside Qatar Living. Yes there are more than one moderator but we all make sure to implment the community guidelines and do not involve any personal feelings while doing the moderation. But do expect mistakes from us as we are mods not gods.

Lets focus on today's moderation which resulted into this thread.

1) 'Happy B'day' thread was locked as per the request from the OP.

2) Apologies thread from timebandit was locked as it served it purpose. 'Timebandit' apologise for uncalled name calling like a gentleman and 'monk' accepted the apologies. The thread had a potential to be turned into personal inuslts and bashing and hence locked.

3) Apologies thread from 'jaffarFood' was just an imitation of timebandit's original thread and the OP was warned not only for this thread but also for his previous postings.

4) 'Richard123' thread was a repeat (nth times), hence deleted.

5) 'pitaci' was looking for service on main forum.

It is funny that moderation is always being questioned, sometime for overdoing it and sometime for its absence. In the end, you cannot make every person happy.

When a thread gets hijacked or bashing is going on, haven't seen Mods blocking the thread.........

Who knows Rene1. I wouldn't want to be a MOD anyway, it doesn't mater what they do it is wrong I guess. Things will settle down again in a day or two I hope.

It is OK...so far we are done with a subject whether the thread gets locked or stays doesn't matter if it is to do something within QLers or which may not be interesting the next day. IMO mods are doing a great job. We are so many and they obviously cannot take care of each of ours likes and dislikes.

it must be someone who does not understand the actual meaning of whats being posted, forums are for people to discuss different things, express their feelings towards things what is going around. Filtering should be done to a certain level. Removing posts and forums for no reason will be a let down. I love reading all forums and the discussions that follow even though I usually don't take part in them, and I am also noticing the changes that have come recently to QL..

new arrivals tend to show efficiency (in their own way), so does the new Mod.

first a person abuses a qler saying she is FOS n then ask MODS a reason to lock or delete the threads , amazing
