Who believes these contests are for real??

Does anybody notice that every grocery store in Qatar is having raffles to win free vehicles?  Honestly, I never thought twice about it until I saw Shoprite this tiny little convience store saying there were raffling like 5 mercedes...which would probably add up to their yearly profit.  Also, I remember one of my Qatari students saying that in the UAE they just get one of these low paid workers to publicly state they won yet they just receive 2000QAR and not the vehicle.

 What do you think?

BTW I do believe the City Centre and Summer Wonder contests are legitimate.

thankyou teacher, but my sib got the car, sold it and went back home with the cash, but we were all happy, moreover they were here on vacation and made a small purchase and had gone back to my hometown, but to claim the prize they had to return the following week, since it was a mega prize, they wont release it to immediate family members unless proper authorisation is in place.

so you could win too, insha'allah.

wow, congrats to your sibling. Well this is good news. I guess it's time to fill out all those empty ballots I have around the house :o)

i am not sure if the UAE part of draw results is actually a fact or some rumour, bcos my sibling won one of the hypermart landcruiser and received it as well, moreover when you go to claim the prize you need to take some sort of approval from the ministry of commerce or someplace like that, which we did.the other two winners also received and sold their landcruisers.

i am not sure a place like uae would be bluffing like this.

Shoprite are a part of the Nasser bin Khalid group (Mercedes, Bosch, Michelin, etc).

If you look at their coupons you'll notice that it's both ShopRite and MegaMart that running this raffle. It's not the first time.
