Dear all

You can install windows on any Intel Mac; iMac, PowerBook, MacPro etc..you need to have the latest version of Mac OS X 10.5.x, which has a utility called Bootcamp that lets you put windows on, effectively creating a dual- boot machine.

You can also put mac OS X on any computer with Intel processors, but the Hackintosh patches tend to work better on later models, say the last year old or so; google or torrent the latest Kalway OS X patches; it's tricky to do, and you need to have a Mac to create the disc images you need from your OS X Installer disc...it only works with 10.4.x (Tiger) or 10.5.x (Leopard) and the patches are different for either. I built a Quadcore computer in AUgust in teh UK with 4GB RAM, 2 x 1TB Harddrives, metal case, DVDRW, bluray, 2 x FW800+400 and NVidia 9800GTX graphics for UKP800; if you wanted similar specs from Apple would cost you over UKP2000. I also installed WinXPPro64, VistaUlt32 and Linux on the same machine.

Google Hackintosh for the forums where all will be explained.

For everyone's information, you can install Windows OS (XP/Vista) on any Intel Mac! So its like having 2 computers for the price of 1. I don't think that's expensive. You have the option to install Apple's Boot Camp and choose either to boot Mac OS X or Windows at start-up. With a 3rd party software (a couple to mention), you can even run the Mac OS X and Windows side-by-side.

On the other hand, installing Mac OS on a PC is just not feasible. If ever you may succeed in installing the same, it will just not perform right. I dare anybody to use a brand new Mac against a brand new PC (with Mac OS installed - good luck in trying!), and compare the difference. Imagine a sport car's engine installed in a cheap-o car.

Once you go Mac, you'll never go back!

I got both on my laptop, MAC and Windows XP as a dual boot and both are working fine :) How to dual boot it? Just install MAC, install windows later on other partition. Windows would be the active now and you will not see MAC, get any boot utility to boot to your hard drive and then set the partion that got MAC as active. From there under preferences, just modify a text field, adding a Key Value and one line, then you are are done after saving the changes and restarting. You will see, both of them there in addition also to the secured partition on the list [laptop or branded desktop].

Best Regards

IF UR GONNA INSTALL ON A DIFFERENT PARTITION, U CANT RUN WINDOWS AND MAC AT THE SAME TIME.U NEED TO USE VIRTUAL STATION IN ORDER TO HAVE MULTIPLE OS RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME.WHAT MORE, U CAN RUN UBUNTU(LINUX), MAC OS X AND WINDOWS AT THE SAME TIME.

Its called virtual station sumthing, i can run Mac OSX on it, and also Linux..

I only have Linux on my laptop and sometimes, even though its limited to ur own knowledge what u can do with it, it feels better than the normal 'Send error report to Microsoft' and the constant crashes the Windows (and only the Windows) experiences.

Been using linux for 2 1/2 years, the mandrake version, and it never crashed.

Mac OSX is very cool, and i think is more user friendly than Windows.

IMACS R WAY TOO COSTLY AND U CANT RUN ANY OTHER OS OTHER THAN MAC ON IT.EVEN IF U R GONNA BUY MAC OS (ONLY CD) AND TRY TO INSTALL ON A WINDOWS PC, IT WOULDNT WORK.IT WILL WORK ONLY ON APPLE COMPUTERS.BUT THERE IS A REPACKED VERSION WHICH CAN BE USED TO RUN AND U WILL JUST FEEL LIKE UR USING A REAL IMAC PC.WELL..THE BEST THING IS U CAN ALSO MAKE BOTH OS THAT IS XP AND MAC RUN AT SAME TIME...IT JUST NEEDS SUM REAL PRECIOUS TIME TO DO ALL THAT.
