Why they behave like this?

fireheartin
By fireheartin

Here is the incident.

last days, my work places folks decided to go to beach on a weekend. This was my first time to a beach in Qatar and i was a little excited too as i heard that beaches are clean and not so crowded.

we reached french caves (i am not sure but that's what they called it) and went straight into the water. i don't know swimming so i was sitting just in knee deep water and suddenly i saw a middle age person rushing towards me so i came out of water. I though he might need some help or so.

but the guy was very angry and he shouted at me.."do you think this is India or US? this is Qatar and get out of here before i report the police". i was not sure what he was saying or what i did that made him so angry so i asked him what the matter and he said he had a family there. i looked around and saw his land cruiser parked some 1/2 Km away and a lady with 2 kids.

well they were not in water and none of my office folks were near to him.

i asked him to cool down as i am rather new to this county and didn't want any trouble. i shouted my colleagues to come out of water and go for another place where nobody else can see them.

rest of the day went even free but it left a bad taste for me. We were all educated, well behaved people and were not meant to harm anybody and as far as i know nobody even tried to do so. They are all aware that they live in a Muslim country and respect the law and culture here but then why some people react in such a manner as if we are going to attack on them. The guy was almost like in some kind of hysteria and wanted us to go away from there and i am pretty sure he didn't own the place.

Before that... i had an impression that Guys here are very polite and respect others and this is part of the culture and back home when ever i used to call and my friends asked about the country and place i used to praised the place. So far the people i met in the office they are all good, well behaved and so polite and humble that even my Manager make me feel like a part of the family but then it turn out that not every body is nice here.

i am not making a general statement that all the people are good or all the people are bad but sure some people think that people who came from outside the country is spoiling it and in the process they don't spare anybody.

hope! they will have better judgement.

In the last, again i am saying that i am not trying to attack on any person, group or religion. just pointing out that some people act recklessly and just hope that they will understand it.

...that there're a whole lot of people around here whose prides and fears take over to some hysterical level that they instinctly do it as a means and benefits of 'gaining respect' in this country.

My English typography is not that eloquent as those English impersonators from other lands. I still have the tendency to type in my native typography . Yet in North America is common to use adoptive words in Latin, Greek in our own american English Language. If everything is related to food and cursing.......

I live pretty close to the beach, I can see from my terrace... you would be surprised how many people go to the beach even this late at night... you can see the lights of 4X4s...

next time you are flying in, just take a peep at the beach area and you'll see cars looking for secluded spots

The reason these guys are so in to their privacy being that they might have ladies who want to be out of eye sight of anyone else when they go in to the water...

So its kinda expected if its a secluded spot... you gotta keep a good distance... they've claimed the area...

They would accord the same privilege to other beach goers too... its kind of an unwritten protocol...

But still it doesn't warrant the guy shoutin at you... he could have been polite and asked you to move out...

Just givin ya the other guy's perspective...

From what I've read, he way went way over the line...

Here's a new lesson fer ya... when someone acts that way... that rude... you gotta give it back to him then and there... and you would be surprised how soon they back off... you know... barking dogs seldom bite

Some of them are so used to havin their way, they just think they can steam roll anyone... you gotta give some back

And BTW... when you go to the beach.. if it is a secluded spot, you are expected to be as far away as possible from anyone else in the area... not that hard considering how much beach front we have here and how few people go that far out...

You might have gone there bcos you want to be near the french caves... that man came there for some privacy...

The logical thing for him to do would have been to frown and then drive to some other area... but yeah well...

nobody has to manhandle anybody.. next time reason the person if you think you are not wrong. Just keeping silent would only make the other person see you as a somebody who can be messed around.

In 1960 they rob me, the guy got stone by me.

In 1970 they rob me, the guy got stab by me.

In 1980 they rob me, the guy got stuck with an arrow by me.

In 1990 they rob me, the guy got blast away by my shotgun.

In 2000 the same son of gun got away, saved by the armor jacket he was wearing, but my wallet was rig to blow up, when unfolded.

Is almost 2010 and they cant find him anymore...

Oh, that's mature, thalib! Firehartin said that he is new to Qatar and this is his first time at the beach. He was being proper and prudent checking out a misunderstanding. We have assured him that, from what we have heard, he was not commiting an indiscretion. Armed with this information maybe he can carry our your aggressive and hostile response. But it shouldn't be a knee-jerk reaction to an unknown situation.

if had it in you , you would have given that man at the beach a peace of your mind, than whining about like a baby in QL saying that somebody kicked you..

dont be a sisssy ,, you should have given that man what you actually felt and moved away,, that way you would not have complained.. you cant go about crying at every other person who taunts you or questions you, that man had his own justifications which is false in the genaral sense,, it was upto you to do your part of the explanation, what you get in QL here is fake pity for a nutless guy.

a girl was checked in a hotel room and complained the manger that i nude man is there in front of her room.. the manager rushed in and found that nobody is there.. so he asked the girl.. where she find the nude man.. and the girl said.. put the chair on the table and stand on it and peek though the ventilation and you will find a nude man in the adjacent room bathroom.

If being a bachelor in this country is now unacceptable then they should pay a living wage that allows men to bring their families here. It is a public beach -- not the man's private beachfront property.

Some idiots seem to have taken the "No bachelors" mentality to the public beaches now. You went above and beyond by asking your friends to go to a more secluded spot. Please try to forgive and forget this unpleasant experience.
